Updated: Good product but pole tips can get stuck in the pole anchor screws
Updated from 3 to 5 stars. Contacted company and they quickly responded with an offer to replace the broken/stuck roles, and even the metal stakes. They said they had heard of another instance of the poles getting stuck and are working on some design changes. Great responsiveness from company.Positives: This sunshade is light, very portable (fits in carry on-sized luggage), and is extremely easy to put up/take down. Great value.Negatives: The newly added pole anchor screws to add stability in wind conditions are a great idea and do work nicely; however, on our 5th day of use of the shade we were hit by a rogue wave that got the poles and anchor screws wet. When we attempted to remove the poles from the screws, they were stuck. The first photo attached shows the result of attempted to force the pole from the screw--broken elastic. The second photo shows the pole tip stuck in the screw. The third photo shows two poles that we decided not to try and force, with the screws still firmly attached. We were able to remove one pole from it's screw without damage. I think if the poles, screws, and sand stay dry everything works fine, but once we, all bets are off. I'm going to see if if the manufacturer sells replacement poles as I really love this shade, but I don't think I'd use the anchor screws going forward. Even if you don't get hit by a wave, it could rain, etc. and moisture, sand, the poles/screws are not a good combo.Tips:Although it's advertised as having an SPF of 50, I would not count only on that in very hot sun and suggest always wearing sunscreen in addition to using this shade, especially if using to shade little ones. I sat in complete shade under it after my sunscreen had likely worn off and did burn. The combo of fresh sunscreen and the shade does the trick. The shade comes with 4 metal stakes that were confiscated by TSA so either transport it in checked in luggage or travel without the stakes if you're not going to need them.

EXTREMELY Happy With My Red Suricata Sunshade!!
I am typing this review as I sit beneath the shade provided by our new sunshade and I am VERY pleased with this product. It's probably the best purchase I've made from Amazon in a while. In getting ready for our beach trip this week, I began looking last month for an alternative to the heavy and cumbersome metal-framed canopy we've used for years. I ran across this and others like it from competitive companies, read the reviews and decided to make the purchase. I could not be more pleased and I have driven my family nuts reminding them daily how happy I am with this purchase. For those who are concerned about setting this up (even by yourself), watch setup videos a couple of times and you'll have no issues. Here are the pros & cons as I see them:PROS:- VERY lightweight and easily packable solution to having a large sunshade for the beach.- Included accessories are great and much better than the competition. Four poles = a HUGE plus for providing plenty of shade for my family of four. And their height is just right for us (I'm 6'00" tall, BTW). The cinch cords help the shade stay in place and the pole anchors are nice to have (though we've had zero issues not using them so far).- Easily handles strong winds. We set this up the day after Tropical Storm Cristobal made landfall and had high residual winds still coming in. This sunshade performed flawlessly and we were about the only beach goers with a shade or umbrella that could hold up to the wind that day.- Easily sets up with just one person. It may take a couple of extra minutes solo, but I've had NO problems with it the last three mornings.- GREAT customer service and support!! I experienced this on a separate but related purchase directly from Red Suricata and I couldn't be happier with the level of support I received. Very helpful and quick to respond!CONS (sort of):- This is not a shelter from rain and it isn't promoted as such so it really isn't a negative aspect about the product. But as an FYI, don't think you won't get wet from the occasional shower that can hit at the beach while sitting beneath it. No biggie if you're prepared, though.A final recommendation after using it this week...I would suggest purchasing a small, folding shovel to carry in the sunshade bag. We have found it helpful to bury the sandbag anchors (at least those on the side facing the wind) for added stability. With a shovel, that takes only seconds to do and has probably made the difference in using this product in high winds.

Useful and versatile, easy setup. Great for a beach trip - bring a spade or a mallet
Took this to the beach this summer and camping in the mountains once, and it worked very well.It is compact and light and very easy to carry.Recommended that you bring either a spade or a mallet as a tool to help with setup. The shade is a bit different than most others I've used. It's made of a very stretchy material similar to some athletic wear and the entire assembly comes in separate pieces. There is the shade with a rope and pouch attached to each corner, 4 aluminum poles, and some aluminum stakes. The 4 poles are made of a thin aluminum that assemble easily and are attached to the shade by putting the end of the pole with the rubber tip up to the shade material and then sliding a band around the other side of it, which sort of cinches the rubber tip into the material. The poles have adjustable lengths to make one side higher than another, and they can be attached anywhere on the shade. You can use only two if you want a simple lean-to. The other tip of the pole is a dull pointed end which sits on the ground. There are two methods to secure the shade to the ground:1) You can let the poles rest on the ground, which is fine in loose sand, but you must use the pouches at the corners of the shade to stabilize it. For this I recommend a spade (for sand) although you can also use bricks or stones or some other sort of weight. You take out the slack in the rope as desired and then add the weights. This system worked well enough for me on the beach even in strong winds.2) The kit comes with stakes that have a slot in the top. You can drive the stakes into the ground (hence the mallet) and then insert the poles into the slot in the stakes for added security, or when adding weights to the pouches is unfeasible.Breakdown is easy (although the sand got a bit messy) and afterwards you need to dry out the shade material before you put it back into storage.I thought it was really useful. Would recommend.

Superbe tente

Best beach sunshade I’ve ever come across
I was looking for a sand free beach blanket when I came across this (goes with a sand free beach blanket). Lightweight and easy to carry. Takes 5 minutes to set up.The instructions only show the set up with 4 pillars but depending on how the sun stands putting just two pillars gives you a better shade coverage area. We then fixed the blanket with the 4 hooks that were provided with the sun shade. This is the medium size which works for 3 -4 adults or two adults and 2-3 kids (assuming you want some space) you could fit more if not everyone is lying down. As easy to pack up as it is to set up.
