Works great for 2000 Honda Civic DX Hatchback, very easy to install, identical to OEM
Don't bother with the Tuff Support struts, spend the extra money for Stabilus. My OEM trunk struts for my 2000 Honda Civic DX Hatchback were also Stabilus. The reason you want these is because the arm attaches to a ball joint on the trunk lid, whereas the Tuff Support ones require you to remove the plastic trim of your trunk, unbolt the existing mount, and then screw in their proprietary mount. That would have taken me over an hour to do, and would requires an extra set of hands. The Tuff Support ones also don't have any flexibility at the joint like these ones.I was able to install these Stabilus struts by myself, using one hand to remove and install the strut and another to hold the trunk open. It supports my trunk fully open and makes it so much easier to open again. Note, however, that they cannot auto-open your trunk for you. That would be wishful thinking.

ABSOLUTELY SATISFIED!
It was a painful search looking for lift supports for my 99 Honda Civic DX. There are just WAY too many choices, and apparently the DX design is different from the others. Please be assured that these supports fit PERFECTLY and only took like 5 MINUTES to install! Can't believe I waited so long to replace them. If your searching for lift supports, I highly recommend STABILUS!

I waited way too long to replace non-working hatchback struts!
Shipping time was quick and easy. I had already removed the old struts, so I knew what to expect for installation. It literally took be only 15 minutes to install the new struts since they were a perfect match to the originals.If you are struggling with your old hatchback and jacking it open with a rod (like I was for the past 5 years), go get the replacements and realize you should have taken care of the problem long ago. It is so nice to see them work as originally experienced. My '99 Civic lives on!!

It helped to attack bracket side last. We had trouble trying to attach first. But they work great! No more dowel rod holding up my hatchback. Or landing on my head.
