Great TV for (us) deaf guys
If you keep the TV on so loud that it bothers the neighbors, and you wear Phonak hearing aids, this is for you. But, read the fine print, and make sure it will work with your ear-gear.If you don't already have a Com-Pilot, you need to get one of these, also. There is a bundle, which is probably less expensive than the individual pieces. Also, make sure you can hook it up to your TV. Most TVs have an external speaker jack, and the Basestation comes with cables that fit most jacks.Once you have it going, it's great! You hear the TV through your hearing aids, and everyone else on your block will love you again.

TVLink incompatible with Speakers in the Ear
The Phonak TVLink S probably works well with ITE hearing aids since audio comes exclusively through the hearing aid and blocks outside (ambient) sounds from competing with the hearing aid.Not so much with BTE aids. The Phonak TVLink with Phonak ComPilot sends the tv sound from TVLink across the room into the ComPilot and then into the speaker in your ear.The words from the Bluetooth TV link are slightly time lagged compared to sound from the tv speaker across the room. These two separate sources of sound do not work together and my listening is not an enjoyable experience due to the two audio sources entering my ear at different times, one behind the other. With the TVlink and ComPilot I am experiencing an echo behind every word of dialogue. The newer Phonak bte aids works fine, just not with Bluetooth. Blue tooth is fine for telephones or whenever you are the only audience so you can turn off the tv speakers and listen thru the Bluetooth and your hearing aids. But if your family is watching too you have to listen without Bluetooth using your aids only.

Some units will not pair.
After the second set of TV Ears went kaput, my mom's audiologist loaned her a demo Phonak TVLink S Basestation TV Adapter to try out. I found it easy to install and simple to pair. My mom liked it, and is happy she can hear the TV again. We decided to try to save a few bucks of my mom's Social Security and buy online. Unfortunately, the unit we received would not pair. Returning the unit and buying the demo model (at a higher price) from the audiologist.Edited to add: Return was quick and hassle-free.

Phonak TVLink S Basestation - TV Adaptor and Com-Pilot charger
This met all my needs as my Audiologist recommended this for me as I now have a Com-Pilot to go with my Cochlear implant made by Advanced Bionics. They are compatible with the new Phonak hearing aids which I will be getting for my other ear soon. With this base I can listen to the TV through my CI and hearing aid in the other ear when setting the Com Pilot into the base that is connected to the TV. It also is a charging base for my Com Pilot. Very handy for me. I will be ordering another soon to install to my other TV in another room rather than have to move the base when I change watching TV's.

Good Product But Might Not Work With Your TV
I couldn't use this base station with my TV because I'm using a sound bar that connects to the optical connection of the TV. My sound bar doesn't have a way to have the phonak connect to it. I gave it four stars as the company provided a complete refund no problem. I did have to pay for return shipping.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC.
The Phonak Basestation is a fantastic device. This device connects easily to my ComPilot and then to my hearing aids and provides extremely clear audio, which truly wonderful to a hearing impaired person. This bluetooth device is so reliable that the signal is still strong at the other end of the house and reliable through a couple of inside walls.I highly recommend the basestation as it has changed my life for the better for watching programs and movies. Listening to music is so much more enjoyable as without the basestation, nuances of the music are lost. Worth every penny.

My Dad has a compilot for his hearing aides. ...
My Dad has a compilot for his hearing aides. This device works perfectly with it and there are no words to explain what a difference it has made in all of our lives. My Mother is now able to stay in the same room with him and watch TV TOGETHER!! Before she really wanted to leave the house or at the very least be as far away as possible because the volume he needed was unbareable for those that can hear. He is beyond thrilled with this device as are we! Worth every single cent.

it is easy to reconnect by using the Com Pilot
Transmits the sound very effectively when it works but tends to disconnect spontaneously every ten minutes or so while in use. However, it is easy to reconnect by using the Com Pilot. I am quite pleased with it in spite of this drawback.
