Easy to use and loud
These were easy to use and all worked fine when I tested them. I thought the sound was pretty loud and I think I will easily hear them if they go off. Great value

Did it’s job the first week after installation
Installed this on a friend’s water tank shortly after receiving it. The unit activated a week afterward when their tank failed & started leaking. This little inexpensive unit SAVED THE DAY! And a nightmare of a cleanup ! Could not be more pleased!! A thoroughly wise investment at such a bargain price ! Highly recommended!!!!!!!! A+++++++++

Works
saved me from a leak under sink after putting in a new undersink water filter. Not pretty, not the best out there, but works well and low cost.

Already paid for itself
I had a dishwasher leak go unnoticed for some time and had to remodel part of the kitchen as a result. Upon installing the new dishwasher I decided some sort of monitoring needed to be under there where nobody ever looks. I came across these and placed one under the dishwasher. A few weeks later my wife tells me she's hearing some sort of alarm going off in the kitchen so I immediately knew something was amiss and ran to the dishwasher (which was running). I turned it off, pulled the bottom cover off and sure enough there was water accumulating under there and the alarm was letting me know. This happened because a lid had gotten caught when the door closed and it wasn't sealed. I cleaned everything up and things are good as new. Had it not been for the alarm I would not have known this happened as the water was hidden underneath. This is definitely a good investment!I had no issues installing batteries, the name brand 9v slid right in and the door closed with ease. Sliding a piece of paper towel in between the fins of the detector is a good idea as it widens the range of water detection. The solder joints that connect the alarm to the actual leak detector could be a weak point if they were flexed enough so I put a dab of hot glue on each solder joint to strengthen it a bit more.

Three of three did not work.
The battery I tested them with was new and worked fine in another device.Other things:There are no instructions of any type. There is not even an indication on the device as to the orientation of the 9v battery. Secondly, the little circuit board that detects the water is extremely light, and is impossible to lay flat on the floor as the connecting wires raise it up. A weight on it to hold it down might work.

Good Insurance and Great Value
Added to the emergency drip pan of a new water heater. Worked well (only installed one) and loud enough to draw good attention to the water issue.

They work and are loud
They work. Got them on Tuesday, put in batteries, and placed them on out carpetted basement floor. I laid the unit on the sensor to make sure it had good contact.with the carpet. We got a bunch of rain overnight and water started seeping in Wednesday afternoon. The alarms started going off as soon as they got wet. They are louder than our previous First Alarms units. I made a slight improvement by writing OFF and ON with a Sharpie over the hard to see raised plastic by the switch.
