In case you didn't know, these cartridges are refillable! You can use tweezers or something to grab onto one of the slits on top of the cartridge to open it. A couple of things though: Don't use very fine carbon or else it will be blown out through the openings. They have a pelleted type of carbon in there. Also, don't jam it too much with carbon, otherwise you might restrict the water flow.I have the filter (Cascade 300) on a 7.5 gallon aquarium, and so far, it's keeping the water clean. These cartridges are somewhat pricey, so it's pretty cool that you can refill the cartridges and save some dollars.

This is just like the original that came with the filter, so it works great if you need to replace it. However, these are refillable, so I refill mine regularly. I bought this so that I have an extra one if the original breaks.

Charcoal cartridge for Cascade 300. Works fine, lasts a long time.Easy peasy replacement charcoal canister. You CAN lift open the top hatch if you have charcoal to refill the cartridge. Particulate charcoal too small but will work if in a very small bag. Pelletized charcoal ok. Comes with extruded activated charcoal installed. Easy for small tank with Cascade 300 filter.

I assume these are ok to use, but they arrived in an open box and are scratched up. The box had been put in a plastic bag. I guess because the charcoal was leaking. They were not in new condition. Not sure I will order from them again.

I purchased this product to make it easier to prepare filters with new media and then just plop them in when it's time to change the water in the tank. These are great for that, but I wish they had a mesh covering or a smaller space between the vent holes as some of my filter media makes it into the tank.

An easy to change activated carbon filter for your cascade 600 filtering system. The carbon filter seems like it could come with more activated carbon inside, other than that it is pretty good and convenient to change.

Wow! The best filter we've had. I wish we bought this one first. It REALLY does a good job! Fully submersible, so quiet. Worth every nickel (we're Canadian). Very impressive!
