Organic Dried Tomatoes, 2.5 lbs

Love, love, love these tomatoes. My husband and I always dehydrate close to 125 pounds of tomatoes but we ran out of time and ran out of energy to get it all done this past season. We refuse to buy "fresh" tomatoes at the grocery store over the winter -- they taste awful -- so we dehydrate the ones we grow or buy from a local farmer's market and use the dehydrated ones over the winter. When we ran out of any we had dehydrated ourselves, we searched for a long time before I hit upon these. A little more expensive than other choices, but the lack of salt and the fact they are grown here in the U.S. was the selling point. These are awesome and if I get lazy again next year, or run out of our own, then I will absolutely buy these again.

I use these to make tomato pesto when my frozen home-grown oven-dried baby toms run out. These are delicious. I soak them for a few minutes to make them easier to cut since they are very dry and hard. Hard to find organic dried tomatoes and these will last all winter.

I purchased these tomatoes directly from Bella Viva. I've been growing and dehydrating tomatoes for years and I can say with certainty that it's more work than I like to do. I'd rather be kayaking or even mowing the grass! However, I always did it because I like having honest to goodness dried organic tomatoes without any added salt and always ready at my command when I'm canning or cooking meals. I've found these tomatoes from Bella Viva to be just as high of quality and taste as my very own handiwork. I'm beginning to believe I will not be drying and storing my own tomatoes in the future but will be a lifelong customer of these.
