Excellent Value!
I've always wanted these tools to work on my guitars myself, so I finally ordered thus particular set, more from a price standpoint than anything. When they arrived, I was quite surprised at the "heftyness" of the file and fretboard protectors; they are not flimsy at all! And, I am really pleased with the whet stones included.I have used the file to dress the fret ends on a couple of guitars and it works well; it might not cut exactly like a file a more expensive file but for my purposes, it is quite adequate. The fret rocker is just a straight forward tool thats self explanatory and works as it should. The only negative, if you would call it as such, is the handle of the file. It is smallish in my big miss and I would like to see them make it some larger. The plastic/rubber grip surface is a very nice surface though. All told, I would recommend this kit to those that wish to learn how to work on their guitars instead of paying, sometimes exorbitant, high prices for someone else to do the job. BTW, get a string height gauge and a notched fretboard straight edge!

Not bad for a cheap kit.
Wasn't expecting professional luthier tools in this kit and they're exactly what I expected. The orange handled fret file is meh at best. The teeth on the file are inconsistent and toward each end are almost not existent. The fret covers are fine and the fret rocker is not bad. Don't expect to get professional results with this kit, but if you're looking to do a quick n dirty job to get you through till you can either find a luthier or nicer kit, then this is for you! For the price, it's not terrible, but not fantastic either. Package arrived undamaged.

Great starter kit
I'm an experienced guitar player, but I never really learned how to do my own setups or my own fret work on a guitar before. During my quarantine, however, I figured I'd start learning and attempt to work on my old cheap guitars. In my research, I learned about this kit through Phillip McKnight's YouTube channel. I like it. It definitely suits my needs and my skill level. You can't expect a quality tool kit for less than $20—for perspective, StewMac's crowning file and and fret rocker cost $108 and $30, respectively—but these tools can get the job done if you want to get rid of some fret buzz. Bottom line: If you have no experience doing this kind of work, buy this kit and work on cheap old guitars—if you're successful and have the patience and desire to keep working on guitars, upgrade your tools.

Very inexpensive and worked great!
Wow, wish I had these decades ago to work on guitar frets. Best part is you can buy this for a fraction of the other company's products and it will do the same job. Honing frets is tedious work, but this kit makes the job more efficient, easier. Just keep at it until the leveler stops clicking on frets. String the guitar and test. Make adjustments and you have a fine tuned instrument. Rock ON!

Is there a more appropriate term to use than ‘JUNK’?... Nope. This is junk. Dangerous junk.
One star is too much, but it was required by Amazon in order to publish a review at all.The entire “set of tools” was packaged in a thin ziplock bag. The ‘grindstones” were smashed into several pieces and would prove useless. The “fret guards” are stamped from such cheap metal that they undoubtedly would cause more damage to the fret wire than that needing refinishing. And the “fret file”, which is what I took a lark on by ordering & probably what most will be lured into ordering by having it included, is HUGELY oversized. Fret wire would have to be beyond ‘jumbo’ to even be touched by the filing surfaces. And the edges of the file are so rough that they would saw right through any protection, damaging the frets as well as the fretboard.Ii took a chance - and am not really surprised. You aren’t going to find even entry level luthier tools out of China, unless a reputable manufacturer or dealer contracts with a Chinese supplier. The “luthier tools” I received today would do far more damage than they would ever hope to repair. Just my honest opinion, and my honest assessment of the product I received today. Save your money and actually purchase a proper tool for the job you need done.

Sand the file before you use it on your guitar
The fret file has edges that are supposed to be smooth just in case they contact the wood of your finger board. The file face, the part that does the cutting, extends to the gliding edges. I sanded them down with 180 and 400 grit sandpaper. After that, the file is functional and will not damage your guitar. Everything else is functional and does what it is supposed to do. Well worth the money.
