Extreme Max3006.6631.2 Folding Stainless Steel Cleat - 4-1/2”, Value 2-Pack

The cleat is a well made product that does the job. I mounted it at the bow of the boat where I also have a trolling motor and so can't have anything that would catch the cables during stow and deploy. This cleat folds down neatly such that there are no edges for the trolling motor cables to catch.My only complaint is that the edges are a bit sharp and they can fray the rope. I used a file and some abrasive paper to round-off the sharp edges. It would have been nice had the manufacturer spent an extra minute rounding-off the edges.

Could have been a 5-Star review, but removed one star because I think the sharp edges *may* be hard on the dock ropes. I’m already seeing signs of compromise after only a few weeks mooring (granted, in windy conditions). But the look, size, weight, and ability to lay flush when not in use is flawless! I still highly recommend, but you may have to upgrade your ropes.

My new boat came with cleats on each side for bumpers. I needed some in front for the dock rope. These are a perfect match. Folding cleats what a great ideal. The hardware they came with is useless for me since I can't access the back. I will have to use stainless PK screws. Should be plenty strong for mooring my 20' boat to the dock. UPDATE had them on my boat for a while now. These thing are working great. Using them in saltwater, no corrosion. They look great and you can step on them if you have to.

These cleets work very well at the dock and fold away when not needed.

I just got these today and I’m not impressed. The hardware they send with them is inadequate for most applications. The plastic plates that are included aren’t big enough, they don’t cover the entire bottom surface of the cleat. This leaves a bit of a gap around the sides of the cleat. Fishing line could easily get caught under the lip and snap. One of the photos they have posted shows the cleat installed with the plastic plate under it. If you look closely at the photo you’ll notice the gap I’m referring to. Another problem, nothing keeps these cleats snapped open and they rattle a little in the open position. I don’t like the little piece of metal that holds the cleat to the base. It’s not a very thick piece of metal, I don’t think it’ll last. I’d give this product 3 stars if it wasn’t so expensive. They cost as much as most of the ones I’ve seen on amazon but this brand surely isn’t worth the cost.

nice cleat for my bass boat. easy to install - however I needed to get screws as this cleat ships with nut & bolts which is only useful if you have access to underneath the rail. Well made. Haven't used them yet but don't expect any issues.

Very compact and functional when I mounted it on my pool's screen enclosure for attaching a bungee cord so my wife could be held back in the pool for "swimming in place." I purchased longer stainless steel bolts than those supplied so that they would go all the way through the aluminum structure of the screen enclosure.

As another reviewer mentioned some edges where ropes would contact are sharp and would cut the rope in no time. I ordered four of these and three had sharp edges . Not really a big deal as I took a dremel tool as smoothed out the sharp edges and good to go. The fasteners that are supplied had some damage to the threads at the ends of the bolts which didn't matter because I needed to cut them down anyway . Could have been easliy fixed with a file if I needed to . Should be better quality for the price which is why I gave four stars not five . I would buy them again

Quality good for the price.Sharp edges could present a problem. Lines will need to be checked for wear.

Arrived on time but the quality of these cleats is very low.It’s like there were 3 different cleats out of the 4. One was ground on the bottom so badly that it will not sit even close to flush on the gunnel. The counter sinking for the bolts is different depths on 3 out of 4 pieces.I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FOR A NEW BOAT, maybe ok for an old tinny or dock......
