After owning a dozen other cordless phones of various brands, I took a chance on Panasonic. To my delight I discovered the best cordless phone ever made. The problems I had with all my past phones (crappy battery life, poor sound quality, useless speaker phone, impossible menu, awful voice mail menus, etc etc) are all absent with this phone. The sound, battery and reception quality are all stellar. The menus are super easy and strait forward. But the best feature for me is the speaker phone sound quality. Since that's my preferred method to talk on the phone, it's important that the other party can hear me clearly without that annoying echo that's present on other phones. We all know how annoying that is. Not present on this phone. Yay! The other party wont even know you're on a speaker phone. You can carry on your yammering from all over the room while you do your chores or whatever and this phone still performs great. That alone would sell me this phone. The other thing is the ease of use of the phonebook storage. You can easily add or delete contacts from any of your phones and then sync the changes to any other or all of the other phones in your network. So easy. The screen looks great too, very bright and colorful (if I could change anything it would be to add a few more options for the screen saver/background photo as there are only three, but no big deal). Some users may find the central joystick menu controller to be awkward, but I like it. I use the standard ring tone on this phone, but it has muliple choices, including music. The voice mail system on this phone is flawless and easy to use and the caller ID function seems to store two weeks worth of calls or more (Nice for going back in time and retrieving someone's number). There's an intercom feature too, which actually works pretty sweet for talking across the house or yard to another handset (no more yelling). After two years of hard use, one of the phones in by system lost the use of the speaker after being dropped so I bought a replacement handset. In two minutes, it was updated with all my contacts and back on line. Oh, one more thing: the phone is pretty easy to wedge between your shoulder and ear if you need to free up your hands occasionally. So many other phones are too skinny. Bonus!

Works well, does not share contacts
This replaced a hand set that had a bad audio jack due to long usage and being dropped too often while plugged into a head set. I just wanted a new handset, but did not find one. This expansion station joined with the existing base station system, but I have to re-enter all phone numbers because there is no clone feature. I have not tried to pair the new handset to the old base station to see if a handset replacement without the new expansion station is possible. This system has enough range to cover my house and a few hundred feet beyond. I've never exhausted the talk time even on calls of several hours. I have not had interference problems or audio problems when in range.

Pretty cool phone, great reception/sound quality, but a bit too small.
This phone is very small, and looks great in any room. However, it is so small, that I find that my old phone was more comfortable to talk on.The range of this phone is great, and sound quality blows my 5.8GHz panasonic phone away. The backlit keys are great for bedroom use, when you don't want to turn on the light to make a phone call. The phone works with any of the Panasonic DECT6.0 phone systems, my base is a 1034S.

vTech offers a better product without gimmicks.
I liked that these had color screens, but after using them for a couple years it was clear that was just a gimmick. The screen lends zero functionality or use to the design, and menu operation was clunky to say the least. We've since switched back to vTech.

Disposable phones...
You'll certainly have to dispose of them anyhow. Wow, I thought Panasonic made the best handsets. Sorely I was mistaken. They lose connectivity to the base, for no reason. You have to A. Wait it out. or B. unplug/replug the base. You can be in the middle of a call and the phone will just shut off. No indication the battery is low or on it's way out. Just OFF. Indicator will show full, you pickup the phone to answer it and the phone dies... from a dead battery??? I bought replacement phones.. yes the entire phone for 10$ from panasonic canada online. Instead of replacing the battery it was cheaper to get new handsets. Very very annoyed. The speakerphone is also shoddy, not to mention the overall call quality of the units. I doubt I would purchase panasonic handsets again after this.

Panasonic KT-TG820B
The usual quality you expect from Panasonic. Excellent range, clear sound, easy to use, good looks - no surprises. Slightly on the expensive side.

Worked right away
I bought a new one in store at first, which wasn't compatible with the set we already had, so we returned it. Then we found this refurbished one online, the delivery was quick, the price very low compared to anything new, and best of all - it worked right away, just had to plug it in!Very pleased!
