Works really well for outdoor videos using iPhone 6s (7, 8, SE 2020)
Works really well for outdoor videos using iPhone 6s (7, 8, SE 2020).Use the iPhone camera grid setting to align the clip in the center and then place the iPhone (with clip attached) on some sort of tripod device to keep it stable. A simple iPhone stand works too. You want to make sure the iPhone doesn’t move. Switch from photo mode to 1080p (or 4K) video 16x9 aspect ratio. Then, position the iPhone outdoors to a brightly lit area (sunlight shouldn’t be shining on iPhone lens otherwise it creates glare).Ideally, use some sort of remote to turn on video recording, but you can also press the screen. Be careful not to shake the lens. After recording 2 minutes of video, put on a VR headset and watch the outdoor clip in 3D.Doesn’t work as well indoors because there’s not enough light (still works though).Definitely the fastest way to shoot 3D videos for a VR headset on a small budget. If you do take a photo, make sure to crop it to 16x9 to view it properly on an iPhone or Android phone. Photos work well cropped.Hopefully Apple adds two cameras to shoot 3D video in the future.

umm...
seems like a good idea but doesn't fill the screen with the image. Fun to play with and maybe I can use it on an Arduino or Raspberry Pi camera...just not good for a good quality 3D capture.

Poor quality all around.
I figured for a few bucks it would be a fun toy. I never got a workable photo from it with my iPhone 5, or XR. The mirrors were just really poor quality. Returned it.

As Advertised
This little device works great for low density 3D pictures!

Not a Toy
This thing doesn't even come up to the level of being a toy. If I could give it zero stars, I would. Since it is so inexpensive, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. It is an attachment that clips over the front lens of your iPhone, and uses two mirrors to provide two separate images required to make a 3D image, one view for each eye. It does that, kinda. For a serious photographer, though, I consider it a waste of money and time. When I first opened the package, I was underwhelmed. It came with no instructions whatsoever, just a message in Chinese with a barcode. No brand logo or model number on the device. Not an auspicious start. The attachment does not provide any positive means of fitting it into the correct position in front of the iPhone's taking lens. You have to move it around very carefully and watch the screen to maneuver it into position. Nothing holds it in that position except the clamp (which fortunately does not interfere with the iPhone's operation), and it's easy to bump it or twist it - fortunately, the screen shows if it's out of position, if you are watching. It doesn't work with my Otter Box; that is, the device can't hold itself in position at all, much less take a decent picture. You need to remove the iPhone from the Otter Box (a fair amount of work, I might add) before the clip holds, subject to my previous comment. The separate images don't overlap very well, which results in a rather 3D narrow field. I'm attaching an image to demonstrate. I'd also note that this defect gets worse at shorter distances. It also doesn't fill the full picture area, which means you are wasting around 20-30% of your capacity (the areas enclosed by the three red rectangles are essentially worthless). If you don't have the device positioned precisely right, there is a fuzzy area in the center which is also lost. You can see that in the image also. There is also some waste in the areas at top and bottom of the images. The mirrors are about 4.5 cm apart center-to-center, which is less than half the distance between my eyes (probably representative of most folks), making the apparent 3D pretty negligible. The resulting dual image does not work at all with my Google Cardboard, which I hasten to add works quite well with a number of VR apps I've tried.I am thankful that I didn't spend much on this silly thing.

It works well, it is not new tech so some conditions applied
Refer to Michel Newell's review, this attachment works well with condition.Best for COVID19 safe distanced (2M away) object, portrait should works very well. It creates parallel stereo 3D photos.Optic and build is toy grade with hair screatchs or litttle finger prints here and there so direct light sensitive. Use under cast for best result.I am happy with this product. I eager to have one since film era. It was always more expensive. This is indeed the cheapest and the best because it attachs to any cell phones so I can take stereo 3D even I upgrade my phone.
