This dehydrator has been perfect for making both fruit and jerky at home. It only takes a few hours to make fresh jerky, and it costs much less than buying pre-made jerky from the store. With ten trays, it is large enough to make good-sized batches for a family of four. You can definitely hear it running, but the noise is reasonable and not something we found bothersome in our kitchen. The trays are very easy to clean, which makes the cleanup process much easier than expected. I found it best to start checking the meat or fruit after a couple of hours so you can get the texture exactly how you like it. This dehydrator is a perfect fit for my family and has outperformed my expectations. My only wish is that it came with more silicone trays or liners. Even with that, we are very pleased with the purchase and would recommend it for families who want to make their own jerky, dried fruit, or snacks at home. We ended up buying extra trays and liners, which has made the process even easier.

My wife has been using this constantly since it arrived to dry persimmons. Well, built, easy to use even for my technologically challenged spouse, and she is very happy with the resulting dried fruit. The unit runs as quietly as claimed, and performs well. The black-finished stainless steel fits is well with our kitchen decor.

Perfect size dehydrator. 7 trays are decent size. I can fit 4 pounds of meat easily on 6 trays with a little room to spare on 2 of the trays. So it’ll fit 5 pounds for sure using the 7th tray. So much easier than the old school tower dehydrator. The fan is quiet and everything is easy to operate. It comes with 2 plastic jerky trays. Would be awesome if it came with 7 (one for each tray). Wouldn’t recommend putting stuff directly on the wire racks. But you can buy food grade silicon mats for it which are inexpensive. I bought the mats, and clean up is a breeze. Set the temp and time and pretty much forget about it. I turn my trays at halfway, but you honestly don’t need to. It evenly distributed the heat. Using the old tower dehydrator, I always had to rotate my trays from bottom to top and etc every few hours. This dehydrator makes everything simple and easy. I’ve used it a handful of times now. Started off with just one pound of meat to understand it. And now doing 4-5 pounds of meat at a time. Comes with a recipe book, which is a good reference with temps and times for a lot of stuff if you’ve never used a dehydrator. It makes it easy to just open the book and figure out what temp for what ever you are trying to make. I’m happy you can set a certain temp for a certain time and not have to constantly check on your stuff. Used a tower dehydrator for years just bc that’s how I was raised. But so glad I got this. Made my life so much easier. I no longer have to constantly check to make sure everything is getting dehydrated properly, and constantly check my tower trays. Would recommend to anyone that would like to start dehydrating things, as well as to people that have been dehydrating for years using a tower tray system. This dehydrator is worth it to me and I’ll continue to use it for as long as I can.

I am loving this dehydrator! I’m new to dehydrating so I needed something easy to use, check, a reasonable price, check, and something I could store easily, check. It hit all my needs and I’ve used it several times now and everything has come out beautifully! Love it!!!

It is a good little dehydrator. I would have given it five stars if not for the way the digital times works. If you pause for a second you have to start all over. You need to fix that. The noise level is good, it is a little on the small size, but i know that before I purchased it. The machine was well worth the cost.

I had gone through three of the plastic type round dehydrators. After going through cracked trays that I couldn’t find replacements for or cost almost as much as total hydrator I decided to to invest in a more practical solution. When the new hydrator came I was a little surprised by size and weight. It was about the size and weight of my 800 watt microwave. Simple to use and the stainless steel trays are easy to clean. I am confident that the units durability will last much much longer then any I have purchased before. There is no question as to the taste of final product being dehydrated. I use mostly for making ground chicken or ground turkey treats for our pups and grand pups. So far after a week I am on the fourth pound of ground meat and (two pounds of steak strips for myself 😋😋). I feel that the way it is made and as often as I use it the value for the money is easily justified. For two pounds of ground meat it only uses four full trays and a little on the fifth. I could easily dehydrate five pounds of ground meat at a time. It dehydrates much more evenly and quicker then any of the round plastic ones I have used. However, big difference in wattage. Must make sure you do not overload the circuits you use for this unit. Another reminder is to be sure to use in an open area. It does get hot and blows out hot air on top vent. I also like the visual temp and count down timer. If your tired of using the plastic dehydrators and running into replacing the shelves then I suggest you upgrade. This unit I would recommend.

I'm so happy with this purchase. This thing is incredibly easy to use. I love that I can see inside and check on my fruit, etc. It is a great size, not too big, not tiny. Shelves are so easy to take in and out. I have dried oranges, lemons, limes, pineapple, mangoes, apples, rosemary, sage, thyme, potatoes (can't get those to turn out tasty yet). It's fun to experiment with. Comes with a great little cookbook and instruction manual but you can literally unpack it, plug it in and start using it. It's easy to clean, the timer is easy to use. Capacity is great! Lots of room.

Love this dehydrator! I bought this after having a round one with plastic trays, trying to get away from the plastic. This one has metal trays, but the outside is plastic. I am okay with that as I am fairly new to dehydrating, and if it's something I find myself doing a lot, I may invest in a completely stainless steel unit. As a beginner, this unit is PERFECT! Lots of drying trays and best of all, it runs SUPER quiet!! It's not too big, or heavy, but storage could be a challenge as it is about the size of a small microwave, but it is easy to carry around. I love the rectangle drying trays as I want to dry some items that are liquid, so I can purchase silicone trays with lips that will fit, I had a hard time finding trays like that for the round unit. Overall, I feel this is a good buy, it is made in China, which was disappointing since Magic Mill is an American company.
