Great Grass Seed
Product took longer than most Amazon products to receive - but shipping estimate at time of order was accurate (took one week). I used this at the same time as plugs and about a week later the grass started to emerge - planted seed in peat moss with starter fertilizer and water several times a day. Great looking grass. I live in SW Florida and this is heat tolerant.

Great coverage
Grows well, but don't use "Weed and Feed". I accidentally killed it off. I like this grass, but I wish there had been more information.

Zenith Zoysia Grass Seed
This is the best grass if you live in an area where your grass burns easily. We live on a lake which reflects excessive light onto our lawn. Until I switched to this lawn seed, we had to replant most of our lawn yearly, as it was fried by mid-July! Our prior lawns also required excessive amounts of water. This grass rarely needs to be watered and thrives in excessive heat and light. There is only one downside, but I will accept it! That is that the grass turns golden in the Fall and remains so until May in New England. It is thick, feels great to walk on, the neighborhood dogs come over to lay on it, children are inspired to roll on it, and it is very low maintenance.-Valerie Brown

Not as Good Turf as Plug Zoysia, But Acceptable For Many
Zoysia is normally vegetatatively propagated, a fairly expensive method involving the use of plugs and plantings of grass sod or sprigs. Because of the cost and labor involved in plugging, for 60 years, they have been trying to develop a seeded zoysia that is as good as the plugged varieties (eg,, Z-52). Success has not arrived yet. Zoysia seed is extremely moisture constrained, and in the unlikely event you can get it to germinate, it is often genetically unstable, producing a thick bladed, rather light green, non-uniform turf. (However, recent cultivars, like Zenith, have better leaf texture and color.) Given the low cost of seeded zoysia compared to plugged, a seeded zoysia lawn is still a good option for many people, as even a seeded zoysia lawn still has many of the advantages of zoysia in terms of weed resistance and low water use. BTW, I do not recommend zoysia north of the Mason-Dixon line, because it will be brown too much of the year.
