Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play, Marion

My son, like many other 2.5 year olds, is nutso for Thomas (even if I hate the series). As a potty-training encouragement, we bought a couple of the die cast trains because they are durable and high quality, and my son loves the magnets. I came to Amazon to find some hard-to-find trains that I couldn't get in store, and I knew as soon as I found Marion that my son would be in love.Well, that's an understatement.Marion is his number one toy at the moment. It's a high quality metal frame with a plastic arm. The arm rotates 360 degrees and flips both at the joint and the bucket. Great for scooping PlayDoh or sand or "lovely mud", as she calls it on the show. Unfortunately, because he loves her so much, we have to watch the one episode we have with her on the DVR every day (*insert motherly eyeroll*), but I cannot deny my son his happiness even if I want to pull my hair out.All in all, it's a terrific toy that provides him hours of entertainment along with his other Take-n-Play trains. Great find and great buy.

We love Marian. It did fall apart on us but it was an easy fix to put the little peg back in.

Hard to find in stores! It works for my sons take n play sets even though the magnets are different. I wish they would be consistent on the magnets, but they're not. Im not too picky since I do want to complete his set. :)

Be careful these trains do not fit wooden track are very cheaply made and are nothing like the older style Thomas Train characters we have been buying for many years. Fischer Price should be ashamed at putting this cheap product on the market and cutting costs at every corner for quality and fooling all of us in the process. Trains should at the very least be labeled or described as not fitting the standard wooden tracks most families with kids have. We will source other trains even used ones if necessary. Fischer Price has taken the Thomas Train toy franchise and driven it into the ground, shame on them. Their labeling as Die Cast is a stretch of the quality that this normally indicates.

3 year old loves it and I hope she lasts. She has more plastic parts than most Take and Play engines and I hope younger visiting kids don't work her shovel too roughly.
