If you are serious about trading crypto, this will be your bible.
Why I bought this book:I am very new to trading crypto (< 1yr). I have always been in it for the long haul, meaning I intend to hold most of my crypto for several years.I realized mid-2018 that I was leaving money on the table - most of my coins would (obviously) rise and fall with every passing day. I worked up the courage to trade, but just like many other rookie traders, I did not spend enough time doing research, and I got trampled. That's why I decided to actually take the time and start reading everything I could get my hands on. I read hundreds of articles, blog posts and books for months. If only I had just bought THIS book first...In the one week it took for me to read (and then reread) this book, I learned more than I had in an entire year reading articles and blog posts online. Why this book was a complete game-changer:This is not one of those books that is full of filler material. The Bitcoin Standard, for example, was a great book, but the author repeatedly went on rants that were almost completely irrelevant to anything that could be considered within the realm of the topic. Nik starts this book off with a little bit of history about himself, as it relates to his journey with crypto. I got a lot out of this section alone, and those who are relatively new to the crypto space will, too. Nik takes you through the evolution of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency by retelling the story of how he got involved in late 2013, and he does such a remarkable job of articulating every detail of his experience from beginning to end. As a reader, it made me feel like I went back in time and was watching all of this unfold in real-time, and learning along with him. New crypto traders can relate to everything he talks about in this first section.I’m not going to describe every chapter, but the point is that this book is SO dense with information, it does almost take a second read to fully grasp everything he talks about. Like I said, so many books out there go off-topic so often, (just for the sake of throwing extra words in there to thicken the book) that it’s difficult to follow the author, and you find yourself fighting to not put it down and completely forget about it. But since you’re invested, you finish the book and realize you hardly learned anything.Nik puts into plain English seemingly everything he knows about trading crypto; Technical analysis, reading order books, fundamental research, controlling emotions, risk management, market psychology is all in here, and so much more. I’ve never in my life been so excited over a book. I feel as though I have an arsenal of tools now to capitalize on my trading like never before. You won’t find this information anywhere else, because this is Nik’s personal journey with altcoin research and trading, and this is how he became successful – by building a trading strategy from scratch. Nik literally word-for-word breaks down the exact approach he takes when researching a new altcoin in Chapter Five called “The Process.” No other book, blog post, or article I’ve ever read goes further into detail than Nik with a step-by-step process of how to find diamonds in the rough in the vast sea of altcoins. It’s going to take a lot of time and focus to put all of this information to work and actually profit, but if you’re serious about becoming a successful trader, this very well may be the only book you’ll ever need.

Entertaining stories but dated information
Pros:Found the history of his career entertaining. Some solid advice around technical analysis and his system for finding the next altcoins to trade with.Cons:Information is no longer relevant in many areas. I went to those sites regarding rich lists and I think they are now defunct. The pictures in this book are horrible. I'm not sure why they didn't use larger paper and color the graphs. It's so blurry I barely see anything. It's like the photos were taken with a potato. And regarding criteria to look for when it comes to circulating supply versus total supply, I get the mechanics behind this but also this is quite dated. Many new coins have a bad ratio but there is a lock up period that makes less circulating supply fine in my opinion.Overall I think customers would benefit a lot more from some sort of online live trading view technical analysis video rather than old potato pictures. We live in a new era. The best approach to investing in alt coins that can really pump is getting into private sales/presales which he makes 0 mention of. And also using the number of venture capitalist backing as another criteria is something that was missed.

I skipped the memoir first half of the book. ...
I skipped the memoir first half of the book. The second half is practical trading strategies, fundamental and technical analysis, and includes charts with notes to illustrate points. Nik Patel presents clear and unique strategies specifically made for the altcoin market. If you're a trader that's interested in small cap alts, you'll find some new strategies(volume spikes, orderbook reading) that are well worth the book's price.

After reading this book you won't want to trade penny stocks again
First part of the book is mumbo jumbo personal story not much to be gained except the part about his security breach. However after his story I can't think of a tutorial or book that goes into such detail about how to be a successful crypto trader. Huge fan of this book and have recommended to a few of my friends already.

A good place to star
If you are thinking about trading in crypto and you haven’t traded anything since you were in elementary school this book is a good place to start. It’s like getting help to the for, what a door, and what a door does. Then left up to you, armed with enough information, to make your way through the door. This is not a Gorden Geko Wall Street level book. It’s enough to carry you interest forward or run the opposite direction. I thought I want going to like the first part of the book but I ended up enjoying it and it tied in so well with the second part.Risk without knowledge is risky, risk with knowledge is still risky but at least you know what’s coming. Good luck and good fortune!

Highly recommended for anyone seeking to understand trading crypto
If you are interested in trading crypto or simply want a clearer view of what that entails, I think this may be an excellent book for you.The author shares the story of his own experiences, both good and bad, and then gives a detailed step-by-step approach to both the fundamental and the technical analyses he uses to evaluate and then trade the cryptocurrencies he selects.I found his remarks very insightful and his writing style easy to understand and follow.

An insider's guide to making money trading in the cryptosphere.
Rarely does a successful trader share his/her strategies in such depth as Nik does. With hard work and discipline to execute trades he has made money. And fortunately for the newbie, or a seasoned pro, Nik shares his experience, strength and hope with us. He is available to answer questions from traders, which is rare, and his book is outstanding. As a former trader on Wall Street I am returning to trade the cryptosphere using Nik's book as the foundation for my trading success. I know the techniques he uses to trade will work for me, and I will make money! Thank you Nik for sharing your knowledge and know how with all of us. Yours in successful speculation, Don.

A solid well written guide for both inexperienced and experienced traders
Nik's long history and experience with the cryptocurrency field comes to the fore here, this is a real gem of a book. As a well respected member of the crypto community with extensive experience in trading, gem finding and solid price action analysis there are many who looked forward to this and it delivers. With an interesting personal and open start we gain some insight into his personal history along with crypto history which I thoroughly enjoyed. It contains a bevy of quality information pertaining to various forms of analysis and is clear and concise, I found it very accessible.I literally stopped half way through this book to make a change to my portfolio and I'm very happy I did, it was obvious once pointed out, but you have to know before you can act.. so thanks Nik, your book paid for itself many times over before I'd even finished it.And if someone tells you there is no magic formula, that person probably doesn't trade in crypto, that much is obvious (and a likely troll). It's technology investment with market research, the same rules apply as they did historically along with some new interesting factors.

Great read for crypto novices with a basic grasp of trading.
The book is split into 2 parts. The first half is a snippet of the authors entry into crypto. Humble beginnings begging for Dogecoin to making massive calls on lowcap coins for huge profit. The highs of making a very profitable trade and the lows of exchange hacks. The author keeps you engaged with explaining his turbulent foray into crypto trading. I found alot of comparisons with my own experience with crypto so could immediately relate to everything said. I read the first half in 1 night due to wanting to know what happens next. The 2nd half of the book goes through the authors own deriviation of Fundamental analysis with specific Technical analysis tools to appraise coins. It doesnt go into great depth on the TA side mainly because its not really needed. The author explains his appraisal process very well and I was able to adapt it into my own FA which already has paid dividends. The book assumes that you already have some experience and there are better beginners books out there, but for the titles sake, provides the tools and knowledge to make a call on an altcoin with the intent to greatly profit. The only issue I had was that the printing of the example charts in the TA section were very hard to read with the black background. It did not however detract from the content and did not affect my rating.5/5

... from his advice I figured it would be a nice gesture to buy the book
Having followed Nik for some time and profited from his advice I figured it would be a nice gesture to buy the book. The first 1/3rd is a nostalgic canter through some of the grounding experiences of the author and if I'm honest while it was enjoyable enough, it worried me that it may not be the book I thought it was. However, on getting past "Hacked" the real meat of the book came to life with some very interesting concepts on coin selection and considerations before placing and liquidating trades. While it may not become a classic, this book is about as essential as it gets under current market conditions and I recommend anyone who is into sh*tcoin trading to buy a copy. Worth the read.

Well written with insightful content
Having purchased this directly from Nik on twitter, I have sceptical at first as to what the book would contain. I have purchased a few crypto and trading books over the last year, however none of them seem to touch upon the important day to day factors and knowledge needed for trading alt coins. The book is split into two parts and contains a little background about Nik and how he stumbled into the cryptocurrency space, and the story of some of his most successful trades. I really enjoyed this section and found it hard to put the book down. I found this part of the book most relevant to me, as it shows how Nik went from a very small investment to some much larger succesfful trades. The second part of the book containings the trading guide, strategies and terminology used by Nik for alt coin trading. I am currently halfway through this section and have learnt so much already. The book allows you to look at the market differently and provides you with an action plan for trading and exactly how to implement it.The book answered many of my questions that I would usually have reached out to someone on Twitter for. This is a great book for anyone wanting to understand cryptocurrencies and a little better, and the ins and outs of day trading in the crypto space.Fully Recommended!
