BEST THING EVER
This product changed my life!!!! I have two golden retrievers (1 and 2 y/old), who are generally well trained and well behaved, but I could never successfully walk them together because they are way too strong for me. My younger one is the main issue because she is massive and has hardcore puppy ADHD, she is fine until she gets distracted by a person, bunny, heck even a funny looking leaf, then she takes over and goes wherever she wants dragging me behind. She is also overly friendly and needs to say hi to everyone we pass, which people encourage because she is adorable, but I end up getting dragged across the street. When I got this harness my husband called it "the mean muzzle" and said "don't put that on my dog." It sat on the counter for a week and I planned to return it in light of my husband's protests. The next weekend, I was walking both dogs home from a neighbor's house, which ended with me face down on my neighbor's lawn after a bunny ran by. Finally, my husband agreed to try this out and we will never look back. This harness is the best thing ever! It's like walking different dogs.I got one for each dog in Large and it fit my 87 pound and 72 pound goldens with plenty of room to adjust bigger or smaller. Each dog tried to get the snout part off at first, but once we started walking they forgot it was there. They were fussy when I put it on the first few times, but now they seem to love it and get excited whenever I take the harness out for a walk. On my first test walk with the younger (problematic) pup, a bunny popped out of the bushes about 6 ft in front of us, I braced for impact as she usually takes off, but she just stopped and watched the bunny run away, I could not believe it. I can finally enjoy leisurely walks with my dogs, and they seem to enjoy it too!

Completely changes pulling behavior on walks
We have a 1.5yr old dog who always thought she was a full breed husky/malamute thinking she's pulling a sled on walks. We have tried a normal collar, a vest harness, martingale collar, and slip collar and none of them worked. She is currently going to obedience training and the trainer recommended trying this type of head collar for pulling dogs.Adjustments on the neck and muzzle were easy. The muzzle adjustment is a little harder, but that also prevents any slippage. There is a small bit of extra padding on the muzzle area to keep your dog comfortable. Medium fits our 35lb dog perfectly. At first she wasn't a fan of the collar being placed on her nose. She rolled around trying to pull it off. Eventually she started to tolerate it.Our first walk was a total 180 from previous walks. The first time she tried pulling, the natural design of the collar caused her head to turn back to me and she could no longer put all her body weight into pulling. She turned back to me and stopped pulling. She tried pulling ahead a couple more times and soon learned that she could no longer pull anymore. The rest of the walk turned into an uneventful walk around the neighborhood.Another thing about this collar is that it still allows opening of the mouth. I can feed her training treats and she can still drink water while wearing the collar. After a couple more walks, she is fine with the collar and she no longer pulls at all. I wish I had tried this a year ago when we first adopted her!

If you're looking for a better way to train your dog on walks, here you go.
Ordered this for a family member who adopted a new dog and needed this to train. All info is from them. He's a part-time dog trainer and adopted his own pup to train as his service dog. The pup is a Setter/Shepard mix, so extremely high energy, but thrives on working. Unfortunately puppies under 1.5-2 years of age shouldn't be allow to go too crazy or it can cause issues later in life. Body harnesses don't work for training and are worse than collars as they distribute the force around their body when they pull, and this dog pulled like CRAZY when a vehicle is nearby and he needed more control. This gentle lead works similar to the leads on a horse, it guides their head where you want them to look and go. So if there's a distraction, you can simply lead them away from that distraction. This changed the walks from reckless and wild, to well tempered and eventually near-perfect recall (with proper training of course). After a few months with this and it's only brought along just in case now, the (now 2y/o) pup rarely needs in when taken out.Again, like anything with dogs. You must not only train them, but be willing and ready to train yourself too. This isn't a miracle product, and like anything can be harmful if used improperly, for example: don't use this as a general collar/harness when putting your dog on a run/long lead as if the run after something and this pulls their head, you can cause injury...just like yanking on a collar can...just much easier with this.FYI the purple one looks great! Definitely recommend this Gentle Lead.

These work!
We have 2 golden retrievers that are super, but pull really hard on leashes. Our vet assistant recommended these. They work really well, but the nose part slides off their noses. It might be my fault. I don't know. I followed directions to adjust it, but they both manage to get it off. I like the fact that the nose piece has some padding so it won't rub their noses. Our boys are wiggle worms (3 yrs old) and we should have started using these easy leaders when they were young. We only leash them when going to the vet or out of town. We live in the country. I would recommend because they do work. We got large and it is the right fit.
