This book is the perfect starting point for a child or adult wishing to learn the very basics of reading and writing in Hindi script. The lessons are so clear and concise. I really like the format. The book would be an excellent tool for native speakers teaching small children the fundamentals of the language. For non native speakers, it would still be totally possible to teach your self using this book but I personally, will need extra learning aids/ materials to help me with the correct pronunciation for vowels etc - I have a CD from another Hindi language course that undertook some years ago. A good Hindi dictionary is going to be a must have item, too. I'm really really pleased with this book and feel it will set me on the right path for future Hindi language courses.

Can I just say that this is my best spontaneous purchase yet! After starting Uni, I've been struggling with my identity, and grew closer to my Indian culture after being exposed to bigotry. I grew up speaking gujarati, which is very similar to hindi. I'm exposed to hindi/gujju mostly at home, yet I never learned how to read or write in either language. This book is AMAZING. I ended up learning how to read and write in hindi in less than two days! The lessons are beyond my expectations. Of course, I might be biased because I'm a native speaker (not reader/writer), but I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn the beautiful Devanagari script! :D

Meinerseits: klare Kaufempfehlung!
