Very fast to heat up. Infared heating elements.Takes any pan including pyrex/glass.Powerful, boils a pan of water fast.About 520mm back to front.This is designed to be placed in a cut-out in the counter top - but it comes with 4 feet so you can use it as a counter-top standalone unit until you cut the countertop out. Nice.No plug, bare wires. OK to fit a UK 13 amp plug on this, or wire it to a fused spur.Has a 2kW and a 1kW element. The 1kW small element is about 10 times more powerful than 1kW standalone bedsit-type hotplates, in terms of pan boiling speed. It is super fast.No idea what you'd use the 2kW element for but it would get very, very hot - maybe a wok?Theoretical current draw max is about 3kW @ 240v with both rings on. Maybe more in low voltage places @ 220v.The rings can run at super hot, down to slightly warm (9 settings).Has a child lock and a timer.The glass top stays hot for some time.For practical use I'd make a cover for this glass hob, to protect it from falling pans / whatever.My opinion: superb. No idea about reliability / service life though.

Hob was very well priced and is very good quality and easy to use

Great purchase at £90 to replace our expensive hob that was going to cost £300 to repair. Works perfectly and fitted the same hole in our top. Easy to install.
