Will this HDD work in a late 2009 MacBook Pro?

Yes, that's what I'm looking for one for. I'm torn between this and the Z7K500 Hitachi Travelstar. Both very good hard drives and completely compatible with the 2009 MacBook Pro. I hope I'm not too late for you following the advice to get an SSD. I've had two so far and neither lasted any more than 1-2 years. Whereas my old iOmega 500GB HDD from 2008 still works perfectly. Disk drives may be slower, but they're MUCH more long-lasting, especially as a boot drive; and cheaper too.

To make sure - find out what your notebook has; if it says 2.5inch Sata - then yes. But the problem is transferring the OS to the new Hard Drive- which - needs a restore CD/DVD or Apples - original Discs.
