Makita452947-8 Bit Holder

First of all, I agree with other buyers, shame on Makita for making us shop for this that ought to be on the drill as in the past. I also agree with other buyers that it doesn't work as well as previous Makita bit holders. You have to sort of slide the bits in and out. And finally, they should include the screw that holds this thing on the drill. With a screw, we could add the holder to the drill. Without it, you have to choose between the bit holder and the belt clip. My shop doesn't have a collection of metric screws. So I'll try to get an extra screw at the hardware or big box store. Another shopping trip for something that should have been in the box with the drill.

Unreal. This thing doesnt come with the screw to attach it to my drill AND it says it's not available for return.Update: I spent half an hour finding the right type of screw at the hardware store and secured it to my drill. Come to find out that the plastic is so tight that the bits are extraordinarily hard to put in and remove.DO NOT BUY THIS

I attached this to my Makita FD05R1 drill and with the hanger clip also attached, the carrying case will not close. It also doesn't come with a screw to attach it to the drill so you need to find a metric screw (4x12) to use to attach it. The worst thing about this is that bits go in with great difficulty and are even more difficult to remove. It must have been designed by someone who has never used such a tool. My old Makita 6213D driver/drill had bit holders integrated into the handle and they worked pretty well. Makita is getting cheap and/or greedy, and must not test products anymore.

Shame on Mikita for making me have to buy this! Why wouldn’t a drill come with this built in anymore??? And it does not work as well as the built in version on my prior drill. For regular short bits, it is cumbersome. I give it three stars because it exists and technically works, just not that ergonomically.

Lasted about 2 weeks before the plastic tabs wore down so that it wouldn't hold anything... And that was after searching for a screw to attach it since it doesn't come with one. Lost about $40 bucks worth of bits before I realized I wasn't accidentally knocking them off... Seriously, don't waste your money, you may lose even more than you spent on it.

Way over priced for a little piece of plastic. It also doesn't come with the screw to install it (lucky I had a screw that worked in my junk drawer). If you need it, get it. But it's also too expensive.

Maybe it's just me, or my screwdriver bits, but they keep falling out of this holder, which kind of defeats the purpose. It's better than sticking unused bits in my pocket, but still not as useful as I'd hoped.

Don't know what these others are talking about, you just slide the bit in, and slide the bit out... you DON'T SNAP IT IN. And of course it requires a lil' effort... IT SHOULD! Needs some resistance, otherwise the bit Wallis just fall out.THIS THING IS EXCELLENT. LOVE IT.

Erster eindruck war ganz gut, jedoch werden die Bits nicht ausreichend fest gehalten, fallen sehr leicht raus, habe die Plastik-Klemmfedern vorsichtig mit Heissluftgebläse erhitzt und nach außen gebogen, jetzt hält das, so sollte es im Original sein !
