Toradora! (Light Novel) Vol. 1 Kindle Edition

This is the original light novel (i.e. a normal book, as opposed to a graphic novel/manga) that the beloved Toradora anime and manga are based on. This English version is great and the localization seems well done. The book itself is a little larger than some other light novels I have, but honestly I like that more as the illustrations are that much bigger. And the quality of the book, plus the full-color illustrations, are great.The story itself... It's a classic romantic comedy with multiple love interests, and how that plays out in a school setting with a main character that everyone's afraid of because of his appearance. Plenty of funny parts, as well as an all-around satisfying and heartwarming story. Definitely recommend this book and series, even if you haven't already read or watched the manga/anime. And maybe go do that as well if you can.

Some parts of this book started out a little rough for me to read. The problem was I wasn’t used to the author’s writing. But once I caught on I fell in love with the characters in this story. I watched the anime and I’m beyond happy I found this light novel series. I can’t wait to read more of my favorite couple’s story. (Seriously, these two are super adorable!)

Very good LN for a very good price. The translation feels incredibly slick and easy to read- doesn't even feel like its a translation at all! While I haven't watched toradora in a while, it perfectly encapsulates the feelings one goes through when in love. The book itself is also of amazing quality, has some very nice cover art with some great color pages to start. The only real disapointing part was the fact that the non-color drawings seem very sketchy and simple. While the moments used to portray the drawings only enhance the experience, I felt like more could have been done with these. That nitpick aside, while the cover and art look very anime, at its core its a very light and fluffy romance. A great place to start reading light novels, hell, even non-anime enthusiast can get a kick out of it.

Finally! Its been a number of years since I originally saw this and I loved the anime. I have read the manga up to the current volume. But having the original light novel is awesome. Do yourself a favor and pick this rom-com up.

Ryuji and Taiga are one of the most memorable characters in anime. Having seen the anime first, I really love the added contexts for the story and how the characters are fleshed out much more in this light novel. It made me appreciate the series more and love the characters even further.My copy came with some slight dents on the corners of the book, and the first page full-color illustration of the light novel was slightly coming off out from the spine. I'm trying to be careful not to fully open the book so as to fall off.Other that that, this light novel is amazing and I'm excited to continue reading the upcoming releases.

I didn't need to spend the money since you can most likely find this online free somewhere. However I'm glad I did because it's lovely and charming and the author deserves her royalties......Watch the anime, read the novels......endure the troubling times that we live in. Takemiya San has made it a little easier for me, at least.

I love the manga, and I've read excerpts of the light novel before, and that is why I'm so glad that is is now in Kindle.

Entertaining but a bit melodramatic in places

So far, Toradora! hits quite a number of light novel tropes, but towards the end of this first volume, there is an attempt to address more interesting and pressing issues. Its apparent interest in the characters' mental health is refreshing, and I hope it continues down this path.

I am a big fan of the anime and the light novel does not disappoint. Some very slight differences but the vibe is the same.
