One of the original Genie remotes that we received when we bought our house quit working. Tried new battery but still didn't work. When I tried to find a replacement I learned that our remote model was discontinued. There were a few available at random online stores and auctions but expensive. After some research I learned that this model was the replacement and would work with our garage door opener. I decided to buy two since I never had one to keep in my car before. The instruction paper that came with them was pretty useless to me. It gave the general idea of how to program but not specifics about any certain model of opener. I found a video online that explained the procedure pretty simply. The hardest part was just locating the learn code button on my opener. Once I found that it was simple. Push the learn code button once and it flashes. Press remote button once to recognize it. Learn code button goes solid. Press remote button once more to program. Learn button goes off. Done. I was worried about the distance these would work. I tested them from the far end of my driveway which is about 50 feet. Both worked great with one press of button. I also like the feel of the button on these better than my originals. They were the soft-button kind and sometimes it was hard to tell if the button was actually pressed or the rubber was just mashed down. These are hard plastic and very easy to press. They are smaller and lighter as well. Love the permanent clip on the back to clip to visor with. The older model had a shell that the remote clipped into and it was constantly falling out of the shell. The shell had the clip on it so the shell would stay on the visor but the remote would fall out. We ended up super gluing ours into the shell to stop them from falling out. No more of that now. Stays perfectly in place on the visor. Very pleased with this purchase.

Set up was so simple and easy, both units worked perfectly the very first time after setup was complete. All that was needed was to remove the strip blocking the battery from use, pushing the setup button on the garage door unit, once the light started blinking, pushed the button on the opener. Once the light stopped blinking, pushed the opener button and the garage door opened. It was much easier to setup than I thought it would be. Very happy with my purchase.

I bought these remotes for my Genie garage door opener when my original ones went bad. They work great, are a lot smaller than the old ones, and clip on my visor well.

Excellent. Easy to set up and works really well. No issues anymore with the garage opening by accident or not closing as my previous remote was old and temperamental. SO happy. I have it on my sun viser. It is a good size- not too big. Wish I had purchased earlier.

Great range. It works as well as the original garage remotes even though the battery is lower voltage. I can open my garage door before I turn the last corner to my cul-de-sac. I like how small and discrete it is, because I sometimes park outside and break and enter thieves look for remotes on sun visors but these are easy to hide or take with me - the size of my thumb. There is still a strong clip to clip it to the vehicle sun visor if desired, because t because of its small size it is less noticeable there. There were no issues with programming. With some universal remotes, my garage door opener had to be cleared of previous remotes first, but these remotes were good with being added last, because they sync up fast (as long as there are unassigned remotes available). I got them a few years ago and the remotes are still on that first battery which is amazing because I live in Manitoba which has an extremely cold climate.

These units are original, what I meant with my "headline" is they are better than those that came with my door opener: those where bulky, 3 buttons on a very flimsy holder that broke easily, hence why I needed new ones. I'm so glad I found these, their color even blend with the cars' interior color and you can barely notice them clipped on the sunblock shade visor. One single operation button and easy to add to my door unit. Works flawlessly even at about 60-80 ft. from the garage door.

Easy to program and has good range. The only thing worth mentioning is the buttons are very sensitive, so keep out of your pockets when you are within range or you might end up with a unintentionally open garage door. Love that I can keep this on my keychain as opposed to leaving in the vehicle - we previously had a garage door opener stolen when our vehicle was broken into, so the keychain option is a great choice. Overall great product, would buy again.

They work well, range is good, just the button is too sensitive, I often press it by mistake without knowing... Doing its job now.
