Works well when used correctly
This tool works well when used as intended / designed AND the log is properly steadied. Recommend that you look on you tube at the different uses for drawknives vs bark spuds first-I sharpened it right out of the box like all edged tools I have ever purchased. The head was slightly loose as others mentioned but that didn't matter after about the 4th push against the bark- it jammed in and steadied just fine. This is curved to work under the bark and peel AROUND the trunk, not long ways. A draw knife is a better tool for working long ways on thinner bark. Still, it works OK long ways to get a cut started if the curve is pointed down towards the bark, NOT up like a ski.Since logs are round and tend to want to roll, having the log steadied and waist height in a "V" notch post will help make this tool work most effectively.

Looks good
Heavy but not sharp. Looks like it will work good.

Faulty attachment to the handle.
The pin holding the head to the handle allowed about 1/4" of up and down play due to faulty welding in the handle insert portion. Booth the head and handle are of good quality other than the attachment point. It was easier to drill and instal a bolt rather than returning it. I would have rated it 5 stars with a good attachment method.

Great tool
Works great.

Worthless
Poorly designed and c carelessly made. Even if you sharpen it (and it does need sharpening), it works only on loose, rotted bark. It will not remove bark from fresh timber.

Haven't used it yet
I'm not sure it's going to withstand the visors of debarking a log. It only has 1 screw fastened to the handle, which fits loosely into the tool, I'm pretty sure the handle will break off when trying to debark a log. 1st impression is , not confident in its ability. ROBERT

So far so good
Sonfar this has worked well to remove bark from a recent cut tree of approximately 12" diameter.Isn't particularly sharp, but then it doesn't really need to be to peel bark.Nice strong wooden handle.

Toddlers love it!
The media could not be loaded. This is a PERFECT gift for any toddler that loves timber work. It’s a perfect size for them. 5 stars, no question.
