I think it is going to help buyers to join in with those who clarified the content of this set. It is a lovely set and the price is OK for what it is. However, it is packaged to offer more than it actually does...and so it is helpful to know what you get. There are 2 books out of three; the third item is a nice blank journal.

Please be aware that the journal in this set is just a notebook. It does NOT contain the wealth of ideas in the separate 'Story Writer's Ideas Journal. This is an absolute rip-off. VERY disappointing because the original, separate journal is excellent. I have had to buy that separately to make this box set as useful as it should have been in the first place.VERY POOR MARKETING PLOY BY USBOURNE . . . GRAB YOUR MONEY AND REDUCE THE USEFULNESS OF THE SET.I would have awarded just one star to represent my disgust at their avaricious policy, but the other two books are good.

If, like me, you bought this thinking the writing journal was full of scaffolded writing tasks, you'll be disappointed to know that it's just a notebook full of lined paper.The other two books are lovely. Full of interesting tasks and guidance on what to include. I'd say they are suitable for Year 3 (age 8) and upwards. Just a shame the third is so disappointing.
