We just LOVE this popcorn. We got introduced to it when I bought my wife a true popcorn machine (Great Norther 4oz Chaplain Popper and Cart). The popper and popcorn have been a wonderful addition to our home for the last 4 years and I have no plans to change any time soon.The simplicity of the popcorn kit packaging is great. Premeasured popcorn, salt (with butter flavor), and oil (which is solid at normal ambient room temperature make this such an easy job of making popcorn any time we want it.Turn on the kettle and let it heat up for 3-5 min. Squeeze out the oil and add the salt. I will say that if you use all the salt, it's quite a salty batch. We have found that using about half of the salt is about perfect. Wait till the oil is heated through and then add the popcorn. Pull down the kettle lid and wait.Part of the fun for us is the magic of making our own popcorn. Our kids just can't not watch the machine do the work.Now if one wants to complain that not all the kernels pop, I would argue that it's likely a combination of both the popcorn and the dimensions of your popping kettle. Do we lose some kernels? Yes (about 10%). Do I care? No. And why don't I care...The TASTE and Quantity! Even with loss of some kernels, this 4 oz package will feed 2 adults and 2 kids (5 and 2) for an entire movie. Just the perfect amount for us too. As for the taste - I don't know how anyone can eat any other popcorn once they've tasted Great Northern. I simply refuse to eat the microwave popcorn that we might make because we just don't want to clean the popcorn machine after use. The secret to that amazing, delicious, and addictable popcorn taste? Coconut Oil. It seems like such a simple ingredient, but the popcorn flavor that it helps to generate is simply amazing.The price is extremely reasonable too. What a way to keep our machine fully stocked with the most authentic flavored movie popcorn ready for our weekly family movie night.

These self contained popcorn packets are perfect for the home popcorn machine. Mine has an 8 ounce kettle and I simply empty the contents of one packet for a perfectly proportioned delightful snack. The box lasts a long time, but keeps very well. So easy to use and no worries about measuring anything. Just delicious popcorn.

I bought the 4oz packs to go along with my 4oz Maxi Matic Elite 450 theater style popper. While waiting for the Great Northern packs to arrive I used some coconut oil from my local grocery store, Orville, pop secret and some butter flavored seasoning. My popcorn was chewy, full of tough tongue clinging hulls and low yield.Box arrived in great condition. No leaking packs. Packs are made of strong durable plastic that will withstand rough shipping. Packs are a little bigger than what the picture portrays. Generous portions of ingredients. Well worth the money.I popped the Great Northern tonight. 3 batches filled half of my 4oz popper. It was great! Tasted just like movie theater popcorn. Light, fluffy and full of flavor. As some have stated don't use all the season pack just use half as it will make your popcorn too salty. It did provide a higher yield than Orville or Pop Secret but there was a few old maids too but not as many as Orville and especially Pop Secret produced. Orville and Pop Secret are just way too tough and chewy for theater popcorn, better used for kettle corn. I suspect Orville and Pop Secret are genetically modified because of their mushroom size. As with anything genetically modified their size is enormous but they are tasteless. Like chewing cardboard with knife like hulls. I don't know what kind of corn Great Northern uses but it is a excellent grade and quality of corn that is more natural than Orville and Pop Secret.Overall, I liked the coconut oil from my grocery store better than the orange colored coconut oil in the Great Northern pack. It had more flavor and aroma than Great Northern. However, having everything already pre-measured is very fast and convenient. For this reason alone I will order more Great Northern.Pound for pound, so to speak you get more popped popcorn out of these packs than you will with the same measured amounts of Orville and Pop Secret. As stated, I was very pleased with the high yield from these packs especially with a family of 5.If you have a theater style popper you should definitely consider ordering some Great Northern packs. I highly recommend them.
