A Quick Read With a Lasting Message
This book has a winning combination. It is a quick read but it leaves the reader with a very important, lasting message. Too many people go through life worrying about factors that they do not control. Many people also assign unreasonable expectations to the definition of success. Not everyone can play center field for the Yankees or win an Olympic gold medal. While goals in life are important, it is just as important to make those goals realistic. The message in this book is not only applicable to individuals, but also has an important message for parents. All kids are special and unique. Not every child possesses the ability to be an "A" student. For some, achieving a "C" is success and parents need to recognize this. A great summary of some very important life lessons.

My bad
This is a summary of the book - my bad for not reading closer, but it is not the book you're looking for. Look again for the actual book.

Beautiful dismount, did not stick the landing.
The book has an excellent premise as to the direction of one’s mental energy being targeted to a specific subset of topics that one deems necessary for themselves. The author highlights some very important facts regarding our ability to become too distracted through technology etc and gave good ways to navigate those waters. Despite a brilliant dismount, he did not stick the landing. The book went way out in left field towards the end and largely deviated from its thesis. He also has some terrible philosophical flaws and logical fallacies in the book. He made the statement, “you’re always wrong and going to be wrong...at best you can fix yourself and be less wrong”. That may work in the industry of psychobable but in reality the statement collapses because he was asserting that the statement was right and by doing so the statement falls apart. He needs to clean that up a bit by having a critical thinker familiar with the rules of logic assist him in articulating what he intends. As far as content, he may need to broaden out the scope of his intro and thesis and be more thorough if he’s going to last minute attack big concepts like infidelity and death.

A viable alternative to the profanity and theatrics of the full book.
After reading the reviews about the full book itself, I decided I didn't need the profanity and theatrics. This summary popped up and seemed to be a kinder and gentler rendition of the authors insights. It is worth the time to read. There were no "silver bullet" insights, but there were SEVERAL insights that were good influencers of how we can live our lives more productively.
