Power Badger Engine Block Heater Controller 1800US

It's not quite cold-enough here yet for me to start using this controller, but I'm impressed with the product upon initial inspection and reading the manual. The manual is well-written in English and it is thorough - after reading it, I had no questions about how the device works or whether it could operate the way I liked. The manual also has great explanations of all the features and photos with descriptions to show all the displays and controls available. The controller has a great set of features to simply, but effectively, control the block heater without wasting a ton of electricity. You can set the controller to have you engine ready to go at a specific time, but it can also be set to maintain the readiness for 0-9 hours. So, if you want to be ready to go in the morning between 6am and 10am, this can easily do that. You can also set it to maintain the engine readiness around the clock or to just keep the block heater on continuously.

This product is very easy to use, sets the amount of time to stay on by it's self, has a built in thermometer to set time and read out time and temperature, can be changed to keep vehicle ready to run or ready to start at a certain time. It is really well built to withstand the elements with heavy duty cord. This timer works in Alaska at forty below with no problem, all ready told my friends.

I recently began using this timer to heat the engine block of my diesel pick up. The temperature has been down in the 20's F. After programming the to my desired start time . 0530. I also programed the maintenance interval for 4 hours. My truck has been starting in the morning like it is 80 degrees outside. The battery backup prevents the need to reprogram if the power goes out, or it gets unplugged. 3 hr stand-by battery I believe. The best thing is that it is not using power continuously.So far..... so good

This is the second winter of using this product. I have it on my JD tractor and it keeps it nice and warm on cold nights. The only Issue I have with it is that the controls do not allow you to set the timer for a longer period of time - like from 8pm to 9am the next morning. So I have to set it so the heater comes on later in the evening to last until the sun comes up the next day.

have not had to use it yet but it appears to be well built. i have called the company 2 times to ask different questions. got to talk to someone right away, they spoke english and were polite and helpful. excellent company
