TENMARSTM-195 3-Axis RF Field Strength Meter Tester 50MHz to 3.5GHz

I bought this meter out of an interest in helping friends who are concerned about RF fields in their houses. So far, I've tried it in just my house. It helped me identify a gadget that had a Wi-Fi radio turned on without my knowing about it. Also, it revealed that my Wi-Fi hotspot was set to an overly high power level and helped me to decide that I might as well shut down a rarely-used cordless phone system. So, the meter does seem to do what it's advertised to do. On the other hand, I'm not convinced that the types of RF sources I found my house are actually harmful, but then again, why not shut down the stuff I don't need and dial back the stuff that doesn't need to be so strong? At least I'll save electricity! :-)One thing that doesn't 100% thrill me about the meter is that it refreshes its reading extremely quickly, making it a bit nerve-wracking to stare at, and there doesn't seem to be any way to change that. Also, the "analog" bar on the left of the display is really skinny and hard to make out.All in all, though, this seems like a good unit at a much lower price than most of the other RF field meters sold on Amazon.UPDATE #1: I've discovered that this meter only covers up to 3.5 GHz. Thus, it doesn't detect signals in the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band. Therefore, if you're using a 5 GHz router this meter won't pick up any RF field from its 5 GHz radio. 5 GHz seems to be the future of Wi-Fi so this meter might become less useful over time.

Works as it should and was fairly inexpensive when compared to other doing the same. It even has a backlight, oh boy. These are made in Chine for ten bucks probably, but it is what it is. . .

Handy meter for measuring RF. I had to study to understand what I was looking at.

Needs more information on health risk at different measurements

I am not an electrical engineer so it is too difficult for me to figure out all the featuers. Product def. works as expected though.

This is a very handy little tool. Very effective, I can clearly see where the microwave signals are coming from around my house. I use it to test how effective my RF shielding is.
