Telecommunications Crash Course, Third Edition

This excellent book covers the ever changing world of telecommunications. Having myself been in the field of telecommunications for almost 20 plus years, I have seen it all, but I still find this book to very informative and interesting to read. It's just not a "POTS" line anymore... Everything is so much more complex than what was once just voice over a copper pair not long ago. It's all digital, and where we are is so exciting to read about in this one book. I have proudly added this excellent book to my ever growing telecommunications library, and you will be glad that you did too.

Ok book. Casual writing and some good information.

This book makes the old and new age of communications understandable by a layman as myself.

This was the most poorly written tech book I have had the misfortune to have bought and paid for on line.I definitely learned something from the experience. What a piece of s***! The book on its cover seems to say: This book is about the telecommunications industry-major market movers players such as T, DIS, NFLX, FB. AAPL, QCOM, CMCSA, YHOO, AMZ,SOFTBY,NWS,VZ will be examined with a range of facts and charts their significance explainedalong with an overview of the trunk lines, satellite, and cable systems, how these are shared, how the regulatory agencies manage all this; what the market potentials are. Well you can't tell book by its cover. I will do any further reading of this type of material by going to a bricks and mortar book store where I can see what I will be paying for. This book was used to develop the authors ego centric fantasies and explain in excess his hobbies and travel interests. Poorly presented mathematical equations topped it off. What a waste. I learned that you really can't tell a book by its cover. The author should concentrate on fiction and autobiographic sketches maybe photography about fairy tales, cultural myths.

Old out of date book. Find something more recent.

Really convoluted treatment of the subject. Not well written.

Great book for the layman. Technical information presented in an easy to understand manner. Author often finds parallels in real world situations to help explain how or why something happens. Up to date information. This has been very useful.
