Lavemi Men's Real Leather Ratchet Dress Belt with Automatic Buckle,Elegant Gift Box

First off, this belt is real leather (with a textured outer layer.) All of the moving parts are made of metal, with the exception to the ratchet teeth on the belt (made of hard, durable, plastic.) The patterns are sophisticated yet not too gawdy. Yes, the buckle's paint will probably scrape off if you scrape the belt against stuff but that literally happens to every belt buckle ever created. After all, belt buckles are not made of Titanium Alloy with a layer of Cerakote paint and they likely never will be lol. Anyways, only time will tell how this belt holds up. So far so good. I don't anticipate the leather cracking over time unless it is folded together sharply several times in the exact same spot.To release the belt, all you have to do is pull on a lever by the buckle housing; I'm not sure why everyone is saying that it takes a while to get used to. Seriously, it's quicker to put on/take off than a traditional belt.Another nice touch worth noting is that it includes instructions if you somehow can't figure out how to use the belt. The packaging is also top-notch because it includes individually bagged and protected components within a textured black box with "Dante" embossed on the top.Lastly, to further help you setup/trim the belt to your waist, the cuttable end has inches marked by increments of 1" so that there is no need to "eyeball it." All you have to do is wear the belt as it comes out of the box, see how much you wanna cut off, take off the buckle, and then cut off the amount.ONE more important thing, sorry: be sure to use a lighter to get rid of any frayed stitching/strings around the plastic notches or edges of the belt. There might be a small possibility of any hanging strings getting stuck in the belt ratcheting mechanism.Update: over 2 months later, and this belt is still holding strong. Not a single chip or scratch either on the buckle. This may be due to me being concious of not dragging the buckle/bumping into stuffUpdate no. 2: It's been probably close to a year pf me owning this belt and casually wearing it. The belt itself is not tearing or showing any signs of wear and everything is working still, just as it was when brand new. The bezel on the belt buckle is finally starting to get some very minor (and hardly noticeable) chips in the black paint. This is, however, expected because of the belt's age and usage. I would still 10/10 recommend it.

LOL. Why am I laughing? Because I order this months ago and was disappointed all this time because i did not read the instyructions on how to custom fit it! Once I did, my 1 star rating based upon not fitting, which I never did submit, turned into a 5 star. First of all, it fits perfectly, no matter (within more than a reasonable range) how much weight you gain or loose.It's various buckles give you a virtually unlimited range of cutomizations. I purchased one brown and one black belt with styles that appealed to me. Now, if I want a different style, I just interchange belts and buckles and I have a nice style no matter what I choose.It's leather is beautiful and NOT cheesy looking. It is really beautiful leather.The lack of holes is an advantage because, in my 78 years of experience with belts, wherever the hole was, that was where a belt normally failed. This novel way of buckling is really nice and looks smart.

I gave this five stars because I have never found a belt anywhere near this quality for the price. The packaging is higher-end which would make this good as a gift, but I bought this for myself and I will find a good re-purpose for the box and belt bag. The look of the belt is sleek and works good with my office clothes. The engineering of the belt is great and the ratcheting makes for an exact fit. There are two properties of the belt I want to warn you about though. First, the belt face does scratch easily (I got all black). I immediately got a small scratch in the paint and now I am extremely careful about not carrying anything that rubs on it, or dropping my pants on floor with the belt still on. The second item is that you should absolutely read and follow the directions. There are several inches of belt that extend past a tracked section on the rear of the belt that is required to fasten your belt. When you calculate the cut point you have to account for this extra belt that must always extend past the buckle. I did not read the directions and went straight to cutting thinking I could run the end of the belt just past the buckle. Nope. Luckily I cut short and it works great for now. If I gain more than an inch in my waist I'll need a new belt, but that's my fault, not the belt. The instructions were clear, after I eventually read them. When I get another one, I'll be getting another of these!

The belt will come big enough to fit a 44" waist, but you will see vertical guidelines for different waist sizes which you are supposed to cut with any scissors.Most belts have little holes spaced about an inch apart; you tighten or loosen the belt by setting the buckle tongue from one hole to another; this means you can tighten or loosen the belt "by the inch". This belt isn't like that. Instead of a buckle tongue, it's a ratchet type of belt where you'd hear clicking sounds as you tighten it; then to loosen it, you pull a small piece of metal outward, and that releases the belt loose.I wasn't sure I liked this at first, until I realized how finely you can tighten the belt; this gives you very precise control on how tight you want the belt to be.It's a great design, in my humble opinion, and I have come to love it. I just hope it's durable, and it does feel solid and robust, so I hope I'll be using this for many years to come. You should try it; I'm sure you will like the precision-tightening feature of this belt.

Great Quality belt all the way down to the packaging. I have used the belt for a week and can see the benefits of using the ratchet style locking mechanism. It will reduced the cracking of the leather, making it last longer. The belt has ample length and allows you to cut it shorter to suit a given waist size. The design of the belt buckles are stylish not to mention robust.

The buckle quality is poor. It has already lost its colour in a few months of use. The belt strap is also of average quality, it gets bent easily and does not return back to normal
