FiTech 30005 Easy Street EFI 600HP & 40004 Fuel Command Center EFI Conversion

Installed in 68 Pontiac Tempest with a rebuilt 350. Has a mild (RV) cam upgrade and an air gap intake, but otherwise is totally stock.Carb was never tuned right, and engine was sorta finicky and sluggish before installing the FiTech system. The install went pretty easily. We did have to drop the tank, swap in a fuel sending unit with a 1/4 return line fitting, and run the return line from the Fuel Commander back to the tank. That was the bulk of the effort involved. The kit came with most everything we needed, but again, we were sorta on our own for the return line fittings, line, etc. Once that was all done, the throttle body bolted right up, and it fired right away.We had a nasty 'lean pop' through the carb on any amount of quick throttle input. We have a single-plane air cap intake on this motor, and I wonder if that makes fuel metering somewhat more challenging. Anyway, we mostly solved this problem by tuning the 'Fast Accel Pump' settings via the handheld controller.With those tuning changes, the motor is running WAY better, and makes so much more power. Totally different car. We were very pleased.I still don't know how the fuel economy is on the new setup. I'll try to update the review as we get more data.The only "cons" for this system are its lack of clear documentation on how to approach the "First Start" process and how to do any tuning you need to do. The documentation shows the menu options and basic use of the handheld controller, but doesn't really help with the more important and tricky stuff. I had to consult YouTube videos and even call tech support once to get the "Fact Accel Pump" tuning hint. If they were to improve their documentation, this would be a truly simple and powerful EFI system.
