Short answer: The battery fits the Acer chromebook CB3-431 perfectly, and installation is simple.Longer answer: The trackpad and keyboard on my Acer Chromebook stopped working. Noticed that the case was bulging and determined that the battery had expanded so far that it pressed on the keyboard and trackpad.Installation overview: Remove 10 screws that hold on the back cover. (FYI - Two screws are slightly longer, so remember where those two go). With the cover off, remove final two screws holding battery in place. Slide off old battery connector and remove old battery and recycle appropriately. Connect new battery, screw in place, and replace back cover. The AP13J3K is a perfect fit for the Acer.

The portability of your computer is gone if you always have to stay plugged into the wall to use it... Yes, you will have to open up your computer but with a little attention to detail, you'll be fine. Just keep track of where each screw went. Reassembly is just the reverse order of how you took it apart. If all is well, just hit the power button and enjoy. For myself this was a simple swap and took approximately 15 minutes.

UPDATE: Seller eventually shipped a new one. It took a week or two, but it's better and healthier per crosh>battery_test, though still not lasting as long as the original.----------------I used to get 7-9 hours out of my Chromebook C720P. Over the years it dropped down to where it was only getting 2-3 hours. I put this battery in and it went up to about 4, now, a couple weeks later, it's down to about 3.75 The life of this battery is nothing like the original battery that came with my Chromebook when it was new.At least it was fairly easy to install from watching a couple YT videos.

Installed this battery and it failed within about 3 months. I contacted Aluo several times, and they just said contact Amazon, they don't honor the 12 month warranty themselves. Amazon did the right thing via a return, but they eat the cost, not Aluo, so Aluo gets paid, Amazon eats the cost initially then passes it along and all our costs for everything go up because of it.

I found this kit that has good reviews and is of high quality. One thing I would suggest when doing the actual repair is to use your own high quality set of micro sized screwdrivers. This new replacement battery has been installed for several months now and is performing well.

This was a brand new battery and a perfect replacement, both models listed are compatible with the acer c720. You should always check the health of a new battery installed to make sure it's actually a new battery.When you install a new battery, hold ctrl+alt+t to enter crosh, type:battery_testMine was at 97.45% health with ~1% discharge in 5 minutes. Not bad for a $30 fix.Once installed, simply discharge the battery to 0%, then charge it back to 100% to calibrate the battery and it's good to go.

Not all the tools pictured were in the package. the plastic pics and suction cup were missing from the package. the tools are inferior and not designed to the phillip's head screws on the chromebook. a lot of play and potential for stripping screw heads.
