Jolt Churchwarden Hobbit Pipe Gandalf Wizard Pipe Long Stem Wood Pipe 11.5" inches Long with Deep Bowl

This is BEST PIPE for the money, you will find
This Jolt pipe is a rare find. I’ve been around very long time, and I have many pipes, collected and used, over the years. I always preferred Short pipes in the past, but this pipe caught my eye. Starting up front, the Stem is wood, it has a bore of something little over 3/16”. The bore is same bowl end as mouth piece, but stops a little over half way to bowl. That plug in middle has a very small hole drilled through it. You can’t see thru the stem, and I think that design is to keep moisture on the bowl end of the stem. It doesn’t affect the draw on your smoke at all, but it does keep the bitter taste away from you. Also the long stem, acts to cool your smoke. The bowl is big at 1”, and is tapered slightly, but is not deep. It’s a thumb size hole for me, and easy to pack, and keep my ashes in place. This is a hold in hand all time Pipe, because the mouth piece of the stem, is designed for lip, not tooth holding, like most pipes. This is a sit and think about things, Pipe, not a use on the go one. You probably would think that anyway, because face it, a foot long pipe, isn’t going to like bumping into a door frame. The bowl is not broken in at all, there’s no carbon anywhere, so you’ll need to baby it first few smokes, that’s acceptable. The bowl is very good quality wood, and who ever worked it, knew how to do it. The grain of the wood is true to the bore, and should hold up for very long time, without splitting. The flue hole in pipe, is at bottom, center, I don’t think, you’ll need any type screen with this one, I purposely tried to draw ash thru stem, and it never reached my tongue. Also the bowl stays remarkably cooler than I expected, even after trying to heat it up. Each pipe may be slightly different, but this one, had very little of the varnish in the bowl, so I didn’t need to clean or sand the inside of bowl. That’s up to individual, but personally I don’t like the taste of burned shellac. This had none of that. If you’re new to pipes, learn what a humidors is for, and get one, dry tobacco burns hot, right moisture in your smoke helps your pipe last, and your tongue cool. I will put this one thru the wringer, for rest of Winter, and follow up with anything note worthy. If you’re looking for a good pipe, or just wanting to check difference in what a Churchwarden is, give this one a try, I’m sure glad I got one.

Would buy again
Great for weed and tobacco mix. A little hard to clean. Worth the investment.

You will go no further!
Probably the best pipe I've ever had it hits very hard, only second to a bong. Not like a lot of the wooden pipes that are specifically meant for smoking tabacco and often have horrible suction. Pack this thing full with a bit of moon rock and have a good day sir.

V taper bowl
Great pipe I love the wood grain and the over all size. Smokes well. There are only two (important) things I dislike. First the bowl has a v taper so it makes an already small bowl even smaller i.e. it doesn't hold much tobacco. Second the bore in the stem is huge. At least 2 or 3 times the size of most other pipes. I some times suck up a bit of ash when I get close to finishing. Also, the stem was tight so I sanded the plastic end and it helped for a while but now I can't separate the stem from the bowl. I'm afraid to use any tools as I might break or scar the stem. It is a good pipe and I like smoking it, but I don't smoke it often. Too small. I'm just getting into it and it's over.
