I recommend 4mm and 5mm for budget beginners
I have the 3mm 5mm and 6mm chisels from this company. I would consider myself a intermediate beginner and I recommend this to anyone starting leather craft. It is a very inexpensive way to get clean uniform holes that will make any project professional looking. If you only had to buy one I would recommend 5mm (I don't have 4mm but as an in-between the ones I have 3mm and 5mm they would be a good purchase.) Just as a cheat sheet for beginners on sizes... 3mm is good for very very fine stitches, I don't think any beginner should get them because they are easy to bend if you don't know what you are doing. 5mm is my favorite for all around use. I made a small purse with and a leather wallet and 5mm spacing looked appropriate. 6mm is for larger goods like pouches.

The 6 and the 4 are great, but....
I have used the 6 and 4 prongs around 50 times each and they both still work as well as the first time. That is the good news. The bad news is the 2 prong broke on the 4th punch and the 1 prong broke on the first try. It didn't even put a hole in the 2mm (Thinner then the punch was) thick drop split piece of leather I used it on. So I will be sending them back and will try again. I will update this 3 star rating to reflect both the return and the new set I get

Tines bend VERY easy with proper use..
You get what you pay for. I was too cheap to pay for Tandy Leather chisels so I bought this set. After one use on 3-4oz veg leather and trying to be VERY careful taking the tool out of the leather, the tines are bent and if I try to straighten them they will break. Save your money, buy a better set!

Looks neat, arrive damaged
I will likely give it a better rating after I use it. It was packaged nicely in a plastic box and cushioned pouch, but the single one is broken. I know I can use a needle to replace it but the fact that it arrived broken is why I’m giving the product 3 stars for now.

Poor quality steel?
I'm not sure if it's the steel or what, but the prongs on these chisels tend to break quickly and those that don't break, begin to deviate from center very quickly and before long you've got misaligned, uneven holes on the back side of your piece.

Good value for a novice leather worker.
I've used these a couple of times now with no issues. I do rub some bees wax on the ends before punching, and place my leather on a poundo board. Happy for the price. I'll be purchasing in another size.

Nope... just no.
In the set I bought, the 6 prong and 4 prong fork had bent prongs. I straightened them, but they would keep bending after two or three wallets. Eventually the 2 and 4 forks had prongs snap, and the 6 bends so often it not worth using.Honestly, just avoid these and put the money towards buying a quality set.

Sharp and identical points that create clean consistent holes. The handles are a bit rough looking, but I really don't care how they look. They are nicer than my other bargain irons. Compact design. I don't know about the "non slip handles", mine are pretty smooth. I don't have a slippage/grip problem with them. Works about as expected.
