MW Polar Flat Anchovies In Olive Oil, 2 Oz (Pack of 18)

First off I LOVE Polar anchovies. This is my first quantity anchovy purchase, and I am not sorry.Secondly, I can't seem to manage to open the tin without spilling half the oil all over creation. I don't know if Polar ever sees these reviews, but the tin design is not so user-friendly. Also the tin is not very easy to open, especially if you would like to avoid oil gushing everywhere, and I am not particularly lacking manual dexterity or hand strength. Elderly persons or people with low hand strength might want to consider that when purchasing.However, despite the oily mess that ensues every time I open a tin, I am very glad of my purchase and will definitely seek the Polar name when I want similar products.EDIT: it is possible to open the can without a complete oily mess, you just have to open the can a little bit, pour out all the oil, then open it the rest of the way.

Meaty and fresh tasting (well salty tasting, but freshly packed) and perfectly seasoned. My only complaint is that the cans are a bit hard to open. I generally can only pop them halfway open and use a fork to get them out of the tin. But they do not fall apart when you wiggle them out.

Great product for a great price. Normally one tin of similar anchovies will cost you two dollars or more. In this case one tin costs one dollar fifty cents. Delicious. Great packaging and wonderful customer service. I ordered these anchovies two times because according to expiration date I can keep them for a couple of years. I bet they will be sold out very soon.

We go through two cans per week for many years. We've tried all brands. First time ordering these Polar anchovies, arrived yesterday, opened our first can. We are amazed at the quality compared to some competitors. These anchovies taste and smell like anchovies. The anchovies are solid fillets, not mushy. Firm. So today, we're submitting our second order before they're all gone! (planning ahead). Spanish olive oil and Spanish anchovies. Yummy!

I am not sure how fresh the filets are before they were prepared but the flavor of this anchovy is odd and unusual. If you are used to the flavors of Ortiz, King Oscar, Rizzoli or Season, this one is not for you. I bought in bulk and now I might end up tossing the rest.

These were delivered today and just in time for our salad - they were delicious and will definitely be buying them again when we are through all the cans! Great product.

Great little salty fish to add on top of my pizza. I am very disappointed that the expiration is set for the end of this year 2020. I usually expect at least over a year of shelf life.

Although the anchovies are fine and the delivery was good, the tin that they are in is difficult to open even part way and impossible to completely open. The oil spills and the sharp can edges can cut.
