BARRON'S DOES IT AGAIN--
I have studied Hebrew as a student and later as a teacher for over 25 years, and this is the best resource I have found yet. I am a speaker (not a writer!) of conversational/modern Hebrew and find this to be a great help. I would not have thought to look for Barron's in Hebrew- I had assumed that best resources were from sources that were Hebrew/Israeli. Well, I was wrong. This guide is clear and beautifully laid out. It is organized and super helpful. I struggle when I know the root word but can't quite get the right form and hence have to take a guess. Hebrew speakers know what I mean when I speak with them, but this book has helped me to concretize some of my learning. After a listing of words and translations there are sample sentences showing how the word/root fits in a sentence in context. One of my favorite features and a feature that proves its thoroughness is the inclusion of expressions and idioms that are related to the 501 verbs in this volume. Not only can I ask for directions, rent an apartment, or order food in a restaurant, I can use expressions and phrases in the right context.

A great resource for learning Hebrew
For one learning modern Hebrew, 501 Hebrew Verbs is an invaluable tool. The verbs are listed in Hebrew alphabetical order by the (usually) three-letter root. Each verb is conjugated in all tenses. And for each verb, the text also shows related verbs from the same root, but having a somewhat different meaning. Some less commonly used forms are included. For every root, there are sentences in both Hebrew and English that give examples of how the verb and its relatives are used. There are three indices - Hebrew-English, English-Hebrew, and the root forms. The introduction gives a technical account of the structure of the verb forms in their various conjugations. However the student does not need to understand the technicalities to use this book as a resource. Grammarians can find more thorough explanations of Hebrew verb organization in all its complexities elsewhere.

excellent book
The book is in a very good condition, well wrapped and the delivery was pure magic - coming from the US and arriving in Amsterdam within 2 day's.

3rd edition is even more wonderful
This, the 2nd edition, is a corrected and somewhat expanded version of the excellent 100-star 1st edition. So why give it only 4 stars, if it deserves 101? Because the 3rd edition is even much better still - it's reorganized to include many more of the most useful verbs, while limiting somewhat those less frequently encountered. The 3rd edition is clearly the one to get - if you can find it.

WOW! Pretty Exhaustive!
This is not a book, it is a TOME. Very nice. I hope someday the publisher brings this to us as an e-book, although the file may be to large to load on most devices besides a PC! This book is about 3 inches thick and is VERY useful. It reads as Hebrew from the "back" of the book to "front" of the book. Nikkud (Hebrew vowels) and English translations. Root index in the "back" of the book, plus English to Hebrew and Hebrew to English. The thing is, to look something up, you must be able to identify the root. The root is usually three letters, sometimes two. So, it is not a "beginner" book, so to speak. But, for those learning Hebrew, this is a very good tool to use as you go along with your studies.

Book is "Backwards"
This is a book of Hebrew verbs which are conjugated. Interestingly, the book is printed like books in Hebrew. The cover of the book is what is normally the back of the book, and the pages are numbered from back to front. If you have ever used other conjugated verb books from other languages, you will be familiar with this one.The meaning of the words are included with the verbs. A Hebrew-English index is included as well as explanations of Hebrew verb formation.I think it is a very helpful book for someone who wants to learn Hebrew.

Want to understand a TON of Hebrew verbs!?
Super super valuable book for hebrew learners, and for hebrew speakers who want to hone their דיבור. I use this text all the time. because each verb in hebrew is actually a building block for other related verbs, the book actually gives many more than "501" verb entries. each entry includes a full table of full verb conjugation; many other grammar constructs related to the verb; sample sentences (with translation) common phrases with that verb, often includes 1-5+ other linguistically derived verbs with THEIR full verb tables, etc etc. It is a brick of a book that is so fantastically useful. BAM! Slam that on the table!

Excellent Verb Dictionary for HEBREW!
This dictionary for the Hebrew language is very useful! I use it for all my assignments! You can look up not only the Hebrew verb, but also find the tense and the person of that verb! It is easy to use, but you have to know the Hebrew alphabet! I really LOVE using it! It has helped me a lot with my Hebrew studies! Basic dictionary for Hebrew!
