Clairol Natural Instincts Demi-Permanent Hair Dye, 9 Light Blonde Hair Color, Pack of 3

Being a Demi-permanent dye, I didn’t expect it to do anything crazy. I had auburn/strawberry blonde hair with gold ends before and used the Dark Rose color to dilute the gold and keep some red. It gave it slight pink undertones, which I expected and really love. It’s a fun twist on my naturally reddish color hair. My roots weren’t affected too much, but again, it’s a demi dye so not a huge issue.I left it on the upper hair about 20 mins, worked it down to the middle for another 10, then left on my ends for about 5-10 mins as my ends were more porous to begin with. (From previous baby lights bleaching)This product is also extremely gentle. My hair wasn’t dried out much at all, which is shocking as I have fine hair that dries out easily. It kept the shine and softness. Will use again.

Works great. Great coverage and blending of gray without having to worry about “roots” afterwards. This simply just washes out after 21-28 shampoos. No unsightly roots or waiting for it to “grow out”. If you don’t like the color, no problem, three weeks and it’s gone. What is super great is the conditioner! It really works and smooths out the ends very nicely. I’m really pleased with the results and its durability. I swim and I don’t have to worry about “green” hair either and getting it wet is no problem.

The delivery was on time and the package was not damaged, it works on gray hair HOWEVER it might not cover ALL hair. What does it mean? The light blonde color was sufficient enough and I was happy with the results, but for picky clients this is not full coverage. It left out one or two hairs on my scalp totally gray, I just wanted to point that out in case someone wonders how the product works. I followed all instructions. But generally, I am happy with the color, I will buy again. The product was also really gentle on my hair and scalp and that was my main prerequisite.

...you can leave this on longer so it will cover gray better. This is less damaging than permanent color. I use the dark ash blond for my light brown and blond and grey hair. I like the gentler smell of this color. I am sensitive to scents and this is very tolerable. It will appear a bit dark at first, but to get better coverage I have to leave on for 45 minutes. If you don't want that, go with permanent color like perfect 10. Their dark blond is warmer, but I like that formula and can tolerate the scent. I recommend natural instincts if you have never colored your hair before. Go a shade lighter or a shade very close to your hair color and follow the directions. If this works for you, great. But to cover my very white gray I have to leave it on longer. The color is very good for me. Do not be afraid to try it. Don't go too dark, err on the side of being too light, you can go darker next time if you wish. The color is very natural and so pretty. Limit the use of heat tools for longer lasting color. Shampoo less often if you can. Otherwise plan to use often to cover those roots. You do not want yellow or orange roots. A color is too warm if this happens. And we all know what white roots look like! With a hair color like this, you can get that youthful hair color back. I only use only at front hairline and the crown of my head to blend in with previously colored hair. I use a wide-toothed comb to ensure color is getting down to the root. Use as much as you and, don't skimp where you are applying it to saturate each strand. I also make sure my hair is free of hairspray, mousse, gel, etc. for best results. You don't have to, but it is best. Please do not stop making this. I also have sensitive skin and make sure to rinse it well. Do not color when you are in a hurry. I also use a microfiber towel on my hair. Save your best white towels for your body or your guests. I cannot emphasize how easy it is to use this color. When you color your hair regularly, you will get very good at it. Wipe up spilled hair color immediately. Don't get it on clothing, walls, bath rugs, etc. I sit in bathroom and play games on my phone to pass the time. I have no stress about it, it is just part of my routine. Good luck.

Am a natural dark strawberry blonde with gold streaks. Have found new "red" dyes and auburn colors all fade to bowie red (anymore) so had gone blonde and other colors to avoid the brass. Though Mr. Bowie was lovely as ziggy most of us don't look all that good same color. Found doing a dark blonde with this lovely rose gold so much more attractive and it fades out with zero brass!No purple hair products needed! So I'm happy

I used 8, medium blonde. Turned my hair brown. I have naturally dark ash blonde hair that was lightened to medium blonde and had light blonde highlights from the sun, with an inch of dark ash blonde roots. This hair color made my hair medium brown with very yellow tones. A really bad color for me with blue eyes and pale pink toned skin. I used color oops to remove it and now my hair is yellow orangey and looks gross. Purple toners aren’t taking care of it. I’ve never had my hair turn yellow like this in 10 years of coloring it, this was the first time I’ve used natural instincts.

Color is nice, as is the conditioner, but do not buy this if you have any gray you need covered. This did absolutely nothing for my gray hair.

I loved that this was a semi-permanent option so I could try something fun with lower risk and lower cost than the salon! Didn’t smell too terrible or burn, my scalp itched a little but I tend to have sensitive skin and it always feels like that at the salon too.The color itself is really pretty if you already have blonde/light hair (see my before pic). It did seem to stick to my natural virgin roots, but tough to say because they’re darker - but they did seem redder to me than they originally are. I left it on for the full 20 minutes and then rinsed and used the included conditioner. I didn’t wash until 24 hours after (with a color-safe sulfate-free shampoo) and while it did dull the color a little, it stayed pretty true.The color itself isn’t my favorite for ME, but it’s such a pretty color, and for a great price!
