Great tiles at a great price
I started taking Zentangle classes a few years ago. In the class I was provided with official 100% cotton Zentangle tiles which were amazing to tangle on. However, when I started looking at purchasing supplies to use at home, I realized that I just couldn't afford to use the premium tiles. I found these highly rated tiles on Amazon and am here to agree that they are perfect for everyday use, especially when you take into account the price.I have used these tiles with a variety of media and they have done well with most. They are great with pencil and ink, specifically Pigma Micron pens, Sakura 30062 6-Piece Pigma Micron Ink Pen Set, Black. The worst medium I used was watercolor. The paper did soak up the paint okay but tended to warp quickly. The shape of the tiles is interesting with cut corners that aren't rounded. At first I wasn't sure I liked the corners but over time they have grown on me and I like them a good bit more than 90 degree corners although I still would prefer them to be rounded. The size is perfect for my purpose, 3.5" square. And the grain is rough enough that the media holds well but not so much that it is apparent when looking at the final product.I enjoy using these tiles to tangle on and they allow me to be able to afford to tangle whenever I want as opposed to being limited by costly supplies. I will likely still use the cotton tiles when I want to create a piece of art to hang on the wall or give as a gift but for my end of the day relaxation art, I will continue using these on a weekly if not daily basis.

nice for the price
Good price. Nice squares. Overall is 3.5x3.5 but that is with the tapered edge taking up .25 all around. The actual square edge area is 3 inches each side. Planned to mount these on top the 3x3 woos squaes I bought. Turns out the wood is off by 1/8 all around and these are .25 inches bigger all aound. -- there goes that idea.

Great for Zentangle art
I bought these for Zentangle art and they are great. White and smooth paper, not the cream and textured paper like the official tiles, but good enough for my purposes and a better value. Nothing bleeds through, they are sturdy, pencil and marker glide easily on the surface -- will be repurchasing (though not for a while as 75 tiles will last me a bit!).

Got these for Zentagle
300gsm / 140# card stock. Very smooth. 3 1/2 inch square tiles with cut corners, not rounded corners. Blank on both sides. Acid free so they should be archival as well. I don't know if that means they are made of cotton rag or paper that has been treated. Bright white. Don't know how well it would hold up with wet media such as watercolor although it states that it can be used for it.

Sharpies don't bleed through!
I bought these to try with Zentangle designs because they're small enough to pack a few into my purse and take to work. I've tried using a medium point Sharpie on the card and it did not bleed through at all! I'm very happy about that because I have two coffee cups loaded with Sharpies just begging to get used. I also tried a Faber-Castell PITT artist pen and that doesn't bleed through, either. So, I have a trifecta of drawing happiness here: inexpensive media, a portable format, and the cards work well with the pens I already have. The surface of the cards is smooth; it doesn't have a tooth or texture that some people prefer but you will get a clean, sharp line with pencil, pen, or marker.Other reviewers have noted that the tiles are thin like index cards, but they are actually quite a bit sturdier than a regular index card. I looked up the weight of an index card to see what the difference is. Paper is measured according to how much a set amount of paper weighs, but the system isn't totally standardized and it can be a bit confusing. Anyway, according to the Paper and More website, a standard index card comes in at 200 grams per square meter. The Artist's Tiles are 300 grams per square meter (says it on the packaging). So there you have it: the tiles are 150% thicker than index cards. Hope this helps!

Essential
These white artist's tiles are a fantastic addition to my studio! The 75-pack offers plenty for sketching, painting, and experimenting with different mediums. They're a good size for quick studies or small finished pieces. The smooth surface is perfect for pencils, charcoal, and even some acrylics. I love how easy they are to clean up – a quick wipe with a damp cloth and they're ready for the next masterpiece.
