I enjoyed this book a lot more than The Hustler. In the Hustler, Fast Eddie Felson never really grows as a person. Sure, he finally accomplishes his goal of beating Minnesota Fats at the end, but otherwise he remains a selfish character who really could give a crap about anybody but himself. This book starts off nearly the same way, when you find out he was a rotten husband who got married simply because that's what you do but never really loved his wife. However, he starts venturing into new territory and meets a new woman that he actually seems to care about, and over the course of the book, he becomes a much more likeable person on many levels as he grows past his love of pool and actually cares about others. If you haven't read The Hustler, I wouldn't bother and would skip that one and read this instead. Or, even better, watch the move The Hustler with Paul Newman. It's much better than the book and includes a tragic twist that makes Eddie much more likeable and relatable than the book does. However, I think the book version of the Color of Money is superior to the movie version.

Ups and downs throughout the whole movie, keeping you on your feet and never knowing what the next move is. Highly recommend as it is very engaging and sucks you in fast. Definitely helps work the cast. Classic

very good pools you in

The first time I saw this was almost 30 yrs ago, I liked it then, but I’m a different person now at 71, and a mentor in my own right. To the young, the experienced/accomplished person has an unfathomable mystique about them, but I’ve learned that there’s nothing mystical about it, it just happens over time, you accumulate knowledge and become more effective in everything you do, if you’ve lived conscientiously that is. So, watching Paul Newman play the ultra-experienced pool hustler, and he did it brilliantly, not being self-impressed, but just taking his knowledge for granted, struck an authentic cord in me. This is great entertainment and rings true at all levels for young and old alike.The other message here is for us seniors: you don’t have to let yourself quit doing what makes you feel alive. Staying young takes work, but it’s worth it; after discovering Super Foods (I eat 40 different varieties) and supplements (20 varieties), I went from barely being able to walk, to exercising/cross-training for more than 4hrs every day in my 60s, and now at 71, lift weights for 4hrs without resting every other day. I also practice Waking Power Meditation. First thing in the morning, I tune into the best spiritual experience I ever had, get that locked in, then maintain that state throughout the day.

Coming in a sort of journeyman portion of Martin Scorsese's career, 'The Color of Money'—at least on paper—looks a bit like the parties involved trying to recapture som previous magic.It is not.It is a movie that holds up nearly 40 years later and features an absolutely jaw-dropping performance from Paul Newman as Fast Eddie Felson. Along with 'Top Gun,' 'The Color of Money' provides ample evidence of where Cruise would take his career. He's charming and charismatic—if a bit intense—from the very first frame of the movie.TCoM is probably not even one of Scorsese's top 10 films, but it's enjoyable as hell to watch.

Puntuación de 3 estrellas. Muy buena película, de inicio a fin, no decepciona. La calidad del disco muy buena, impecable, al igual que el contenido, aunque el audio no sea 5.1, es merito el doblaje en español latino, tal como la recuerdo. Mi única queja es la portada del estuche, de muy mala calidad, parece impresión en un papel cualquiera y con la letra borrosa. En fin, el precio fue muy bueno, para ser importado.
