Thsi book is a complete package
The first part of the book is devoted to him telling about his rise in the profession, the negative attitude from his parents, the people he admired and believed in him, and his mental power and focus that brought him to the top. This is followed by pages of great photos showing him from his early years to the top of his career, and some of his great poses. Its the last part of the book that I found to be most helpful and motivating. Why? Because it was written for athletes wanting to get into completion, and covers not only the physical but the necessary psychological needs to get to the top. One can see that it was this mentality and singular focus, that allowed him so much success in the fields of real estate, movies, and politics. Also this part offers great strategies that apply to anyone wanting to succeed in any field, and goes well beyond just bodybuilding.

A must read for everyone of all ages and experience.
In the age of technology where every chap is writing articles, apps and websites related to health is kind of dangerous if not misleading at times by inundating with fluff aiming to sell their stuff. So I wanted to get the right information on the topic and it was no brainer that I looked on to Arnold's book. This book has detailed information of Arnolds early years and his struggles in the career and vividly illustrated with his pictures and other top bodybuilders from very early age to the time he won his last Mr.O.This book not only shares the Arnold's story but also gives you information on getting started with bodybuilding the right way! I found invaluable gems every now and then inside his story as well where he gives you information based on his experiences while narrating his story. I sometimes re-read the sections and go through the pictures to get psyched up when I feel down. I followed his principle on training legs and with in few weeks I found remarkable development in size of my quads and calves. I haven't seen any training expert( top social media trainers) write articles or emphasize this much on training legs!I think this book is must read for everyone of all ages and experience!!!

Are you working toward a big dream/goal? This is for you.
This is a great book about having a dream and making it happen. It discusses all the negativity he got from his family, people he knew and strangers, and how he had to block them out of his mind and keep doing what he wanted (become a world class body builder). He also talks about the mental challenges that come about when one follows a dream that is unpopular with the masses, and the sacrifices he had to make. I'm having my daughter read it. She's been working towards her dream of working for Cirque du Soleil. This is helping her already keep the focus on her own dream. This book applies to anyone working hard to achieve a big goal in their life (it's not just for bodybuilders). The last chapters are focused on working out and diet. Even though I did not buy the book for that part of it, I still recommend it. I find it very inspirational.

Must buy for any weightlifter
I finished this book in about two days. I really needed something to help me break through some mental and physical plateaus. I felt like I wasn't getting the results I hoped and wasn't feeling the workouts like I did before. After tearing through this book in no time, I felt rejuvenated and fully reinvested into my mental and physical health. Although I consider myself to be an intermediate lifter, as this is about my second year, I decided to start Arnolds MWF routine from the book. Really get back to basics and refocus on my form, and really feeling the pump. Not obsessing over a few extra pounds on my curl or bench. It works, with my current busy schedule and trying to cut back some fat from my novice bulk, I felt this is exactly what I needed. Arnold also explains some secrets he's figured out from years of training. For example, don't be afraid to work your calves, forearms, and abdominals daily. He goes on to say that, since we use these stubborn muscles daily, its not the same as doing a chest workout two days in a row. I start every morning with the sit ups and leg pulls, as well as body weight squats to help me warm up. Progress through my sets, and finish with calf raises and finger curls. I really can't stress how great it feels to take on the day knowing I just hammered through a routing created by the Austrian Oak himself.

Great read, I finished the biography section in one sitting
This book may be geared to fitness enthusiasts, but, in reality, everyone should enjoy the first half of the book, which is a biography focused on Arnold's training. The second half focuses on Arnold's recommended bodybuilding program and includes tips for bodybuilding contests, so the information may not appeal to a wide audience. The first half of the book should be nothing short of inspirational for nearly every reader. Arnold's effort, dedication, and work ethic are second-to-none. He wanted to be bigger than everyone else--he decided at a young age that this was his goal. He wanted to be big, move to the USA, and be a movie star. To get there, he worked out for 8 hours a day, went AWOL from the Austrian Army to enter a bodybuilding contest, and didn't let his parents discourage him. He road his bike 8 miles one way to get to the gym. You get the idea, his life is a remarkable story. The second half of the book gives you some insight into Arnold's training--gym buffs should note that he recommends months of body-weight only training before touching a barbell. Something to think about. An enjoyable read!

Great Book
Much of the book is the story of the author, in the final part has training and eating tips. It's a great book for anyone who wants to know the history of Arnold and get inspiration to train. I have used many of the book's tips and I have had a great evolution in training. I recommend

Not what it looks on the picture
I was under the impression I was getting a new one for the price I paid and this one is battered and dog eared and it’s meant to be a present. Not to mention the picture on the website is nothing like the one I’ve got. Hope the book itself is a good read for the receiver but so far I’m unimpressed...

Looooove this book!
Looooove this book! What a classic. Arnold Schwarzenegger is inspiring as always; he has achieved so much in one life time and it was all mostly BEFORE the internet. Great tips on working out and eating too.
