I'm not a pro and I don't have a ton of experience with spring loaded hinges so take this review with that context. First a two pack is weird to me. I wish I could buy 1 or 3. I installed the two on a pretty lightweight door. I twisted the springs about as tight as I could. It does what I need it to do which is make sure the door at least closes to touch the door frame to keep my dogs from running out the front door. I DO wish it would close all the way, and it does if I push the door ALL the way open. But with groceries/etc in my hand, that isn't always an option. Either way, I'm happy. I spent what I wanted on the solution to my problem. I would recommend these.

Bought this for 2 reasons, spring loaded closing and hole locations.Replaced hinges for door leading to garage when builder didn't include these. So glad this was available as a direct replacement (square on one side and rounded on the other as well as hole locations)! Unscrewed the old ones and installed these. Setting the spring tension was simple. The whole process took me about 15 minutes and now my door doesn't fly open out of reach and closes itself to a point where I can fully close with a simple pull.Note, I didn't cut the pins after setting the spring tension in case I want to change it later. They don't protrude too far and should be safe for most people. One is less than a foot above the floor and the second is well above eye level for most people.

These aren't the cheapest spring hinges but I installed the first set in 2016 and they work like new, now I'm doing another door. I needed a hinge that was round on one leaf and square corners on the other, and these fit perfectly. Spring is adjustable, possible even if the door doesn't open all the way, just a bit more of a challenge.

Caused a big misalignment and door would not close when installing the recommended two per door

Military family so move a lot and is great with kids and dogs. If buy one that matches current hinges is easy plug and play. Now when kid comes in from garage no more door left open and dogs can come inside and no bugs rolling when door is open.
