Strange stuff
Really bizarre film. I got it because of a particular actress but very little of her in it but she does get nude

The best arthouse horror I’ve ever seen...
This multilayered, ambiguous horror film relies on the imagination and out of the box thinking, but the end result is a horror lover’s dream. Let your mind go with this one, and you will be rewarded. Bill Oberst, Jr. plays the heartbreaking yet deserving character of Ariel like a man doomed to replay his mistakes for eternity. Wonderful storytelling. Highly recommended.

Pointless grossness.
Reasonable horror premise presented in a gross way. Various scenes had no explanation.

Dark, Stylish Extreme Horror
This is a dark, stylish, and often brutal movie that might only run just over an hour, but Dis packs in more in that short duration than most genre films do with twice the run time. I mean, when one of the early scenes is an unknown person keeping a naked woman chained up, then forcing her to have a squirting orgasm into a collection bowl, you know Dis means business. The narrative is not the usual story driven approach, as the film has long stretches with little to no dialogue, so it feels like more of an experience. This is bolstered by the emphasis on lush visuals and stylish camera work, giving Dis a polished, often beautiful veneer, covering the dark, nasty elements underneath. Of course, this kind of loose take on storytelling is bound to alienate some viewers, but given the content involved, that isn’t really a concern in this case. Those who would seek out a movie like Dis are likely adventurous in spirit, so the esoteric elements should be a positive, not a drawback. This is yet another example of how strong the artistic elements in extreme horror can be, a well crafted, memorable ride into madness. Visit my site for a full review!

A short and boring horror film that is light on the horror.
This movie feels like an art house type project that doesn't seem to have a point to it. I would claim that it was amateurish but the cinematography is actually pretty good with some great scenery. The story is told through minimalist techniques in which you have to piece together what is going on. you meet the main character in the woods and know nothing about him but through clues you learn that he is an ex soldier who has or had someone he loved. this is shown through dog tags and an old photo. There is very little dialogue in the film and when there is, it is either really dumb or confusing. a flashback shows his brother, I think, saying that some item came from the "no no" place of the woods. this was supposed to be menacing but i couldn't help but laugh. if they wanted to make that sound menacing, he should have labeled it as the Forbidden place or cursed place, not the no no place.Be warned there is quite a bit of nudity, both male and female, but none of it would be considered tantalizing. Those scenes just come off as uncomfortable (which a few were meant to be) and confusing. I didn't need to see the main character take a piss from a side angle. For the life of me, I couldn't figure out why the main character would follow a cultist looking figure into an abandoned building. the figure was topless and just seemed to wander about the place with him trailing after her with no real reason. a logical move would have been to get the hell away from that place on first viewing of a cultist like figure as nothing good would come of it. The other head scratcher is that there was no point to that cultist figure at all, they show up once and do nothing other than walk about topless. Hell, it is the only time in the movie you see that person.this movie goes in such an odd direction that it comes out as boring and just idiotic. the main character doesn't have much of a personality and the horror, what bit of it there is, comes out as flat and just confusing. the main monster does have some good makeup but he never comes off as scary and the pulsing roots of the plants were well done but i felt like i was wasting my time trying to figure out what the purpose of this film was.the movie is only one hour long but feels like it is much longer. it is also over priced for what it is. the main concept of the film, the Mandrake, could have been far better implemented but for what I watched, it is not really worth the time or investment.I would have rated this lower but the cinematography was very well done and the scenery was pleasant to look at.

One of those movies that you don’t tell other people that you have
I rented this movie once and couldn’t forget it. I straight up thought of it as horror porn and it actually told a decent story
