Great adaptation of a beloved fairy tale!
This is a beautifully illustrated adaptation of a well loved fairy tale. Jan Brett at her best! Children appreciate the familiar along with the novel ideas presented. This is a must have for your children’s library.

Artwork A+
I have always loved Jan Brett books for her artwork, and usually the stories are captivating and a worthwhile read for children. This is just a retelling of the Goldilocks story, so that was a bit disappointing because I thought it would have been a story original to Brett. But I kept it and we’ll enjoy reading it and looking at the pictures

Great Story for K-2 Graders
For a different type of a review, I found this story to be a great followup to "Goldilocks and the Three Bears". I am currently student teaching in a second grade class and was looking for a way to show "Compare/Contrast" skills to my class. I was able to use these two stories and meet several "California Standards for Second Grade" as:3.0. Literary Response and Analysis 3.1 Compare and contrast plots, settings, and characters presented by different authors. 3.3 Compare and contrast different versions of the same stories that reflect different cultures.2.0 Reading Comprehension 2.7 Interpret information from diagrams, charts, and graphs.I also introduced a new graphics organizer, the Venn Diagram as a graphical way for my students to easily see what is the same and what is different between the two stories.Another pair of books I used were "The Three Little Pigs (classic version) and "The Three Little Javelinas".Anyway, great stories in themselves but also great for discussions about what is alike and not alike in two stories.

Great winter story
Such a cute take on goody locks and the three bears. Our little one loves it. There is so much to discover in the artwork. She finds something to point out every time we read it. A good winter collection story.

Lovely art and a lighthearted way to talk to kids about saftey and manners
The Three Snow Bears is a revision of the goldilocks story, but based in Alaska. The artwork is lovely. I like the Alaskan twist because it a small way to expose children to another culture. Some people do not like the story (or the original goldilocks I assume) because it’s about a little girl with very poor judgement and very bad manners. But, for me, that's the point. It’s a chance to discuss with kids a) NOT go into stranger’s houses (or cars) without their adult and b) manners in a lighthearted way.

Great!
Ordered this story for a dementia unit - worked very well because the story follows the Goldilocks story just putting the snows bears in their place with some other animal characters, but the really great part was that I was able to go to the Jan Brett website and all of the art work is available for downloading so I had the artwork blown up and we were not only able to read the story but we were able to create a 3 Snow Bears Mural to go along with the story. So not only were we able to reminisce and compare how the stories were so similar but they had a great time creating the mural and they can see the results of their work because the mural is now on the walls! So thanks to Jan Brett for sharing her illustrations and Amazon for giving me the idea!

Arctic version of The 3 Bears
A sweet rendition of Goldielocks and the 3 Bears, but set in the Arctic with a couple of inventive twists in the story.

amazing art as always, honestly the story was a little lacking but it's all in the delivery by the reader to the child.
