MindWareTWANGLED Board Game

This was a great game for a holiday family gathering because we had ages from 5 to 46 playing together, laughing, getting tangled and unwinding. The colors are bright, the bands were stretchy, and you don't need to know how to read to enjoy the game. The kick spinner was a good idea but ours was kind of stiff out of the box. We designated a spinner who didn't want to get "twangled" to spin for all of us (like Twister). It's quick enough that those who don't love it as much as the five year old can join in briefly. The youngest players brought it back to Grandma's house on day two of the visit to play again because they liked it so much. It's definitely more of a game with a larger group. You do not have to hold awkward positions like Twister because once you step over or duck under the band you can stand again.

This is a fun game. But two suggestions - don't try playing with kids that are too young - we did and they continued to let go of the band, which of course ended the game and frustrated everyone else. Secondly - you cannot use spinner they way they suggest in the directions because it falls apart too easily. You need to have a designated "spinner" who does all the spinning of the wheel very gently by hand. So with the right age kids, who understand that they must hand on to the band or they will ruin the game for everyone, and with TLC to the spinner, this can be a fun game.

Our family (an almost 9 year old girl, a 12 year ago boy and 2 adults) played this game for the first time last night. We had a blast. It involved laughter and problem solving. Game play is relatively quick- probably about 10-15 minutes. We enjoyed our first time so much we played it twice. It would make also make a great team building activity. The game pieces themselves feel pretty well made, although we did need to encourage our kids to be gentle with the kick spinner.

This is a fun game for lower grade-school children though my 12 year old granddaughter thought it fun when our family played it. I imagine she could have fun with it with her friends. It was a big hit with the grandkids. It turned out to be a bit tricky for the grandparents! But it achieved my goal of providing a fun time for the family and I believe it will continue to get played in the years ahead. It's not cheap and the spinner seems like it could get broken but the elastic straps seem well made.

The idea of this game is great, but the spinner is poorly made. The intention is that players (kids) gently tap the spinner with their foot. The moment my kids do that the spinner breaks, it can be out back together, but it is a terrible design. In order for my kids to play I have to sit their and be the spinner for all kids, which means I can't a play with them and they can't play without me.

Very fast to clean up. Such a fun game, you really do need at least 3+, or at least 4 to play.

My kids love this game. We play it all the time. My six year old loves it with her friends as do my 13 and 14 year olds. It can be played by multiple ages at the same time and they will all be laughing.

Theoretically a great game. Bought it for my grandchildren. Gave it to them yesterday and played it immediately. Each time we tried to use the kick spinner it came apart. Hopefully it is a lemon and a replacement spinner will make it all right. Wanted to love it. Great potential. Too expensive to ignore the problem.
