Spalding NBA Hercules Portable Basketball System - 50" Acrylic Backboard, Green Base

We've owned this basketball hoop for a little over a year and it's awesome. Very sturdy. I have boys aged 6 and 8 and they want the hoop at different heights. I love that it's easy to adjust because I'm not super strong. Hoop looks great in the driveway. It is not the easiest to put together but once together it's very sturdy. My boys love it!

Assembly is a two strong person job. My sons and all the neighbor kids love it. Pros: height adjustable, moveable. Cons: the triangular black piece broke on the first use, the base leaks and it IS a little tough to adjust and move. We ordered it when we knew we were going to pour a basketball pad. Our cement got delayed almost a month, so we had the hoop sitting in the box for a little over a month while we waited for the guys to pour our pad. We finally put it together only to find that the triangular black piece had a crack, which in turn broke off on the first use, by this time we have had it in our possession long enough that we missed the "return" window. I was playing with my sons when one went to block a shot, and it bounced the hoop/net up and out of whack. We tried pulling the hoop back down to the correct position but ended up having to lean the hoop onto a sawhorse, unscrew the hoop/net adjust it and put it back together. It's only happened once. You do need to make sure the base is weighted down so it's not wobbly or easily pulled over. Other than those minor problems it has been fun to have. Our family likes it. This is our first hoop, so we really have nothing else to compare it to.

My kids put a huge hole in the backboard after less than one year of occasional use. They are young (5 & 9) and don't play very hard and never threw anything other than a bball at the hoop. Hoop was stored in garage when not in use. Total waste of money.

Disappointed. Only had for a few months and the black triangular shaped rebound piece has already cracked & broken. This is our 2nd one - first once last over 3 1/2 years until the backboard came unglued after constant use but had no other problems with it.

The end product was satisfactory but by no means is it a one person construction. I used the help offered for its construction and had to help the helper set it up. He had to return because when my son used it with friends it started to lean. He returned the next day fixing it and it has been fine since.

3 hours to put together. We were interrupted. Can definitely tell nice quality from a portable system. The backboard is solid and exactly what I wanted. Take your time when putting pole together. I was lined up with tab and slot but later showed a little off. Real pain at this time to correct.

Great hoop for the price. Takes two to assemble completely. Instructions are good.

Great hoop that is very stable and easily adjusted. Only negative is that it is extremely heavy and not easy to move around.
