WORLD TRADE CENTER 2D - MOVIE (German)

This is simply one of those films that everyone must see at all costs no matter what. The story is well known (and true) and demands to be heard (and seen). What better man for the job than Oliver Stone. His is a film that effects and affects in equal measure. The quiet moments (ie with the always delightful and lovely Maggie Gyllenhaal and the just as luminous (and that in of itself is quite the accomplishment given the nature of the film) and dependable Maria Bello, as the wives at home watching the horror evolve on telly) are as powerful as the action notes (tho this is first and foremost a drama film and not an action picture) which are truly heart rending. Nicolas Cage is always, Wicker Man remake aside, the go to guy for real acting gusto and prowess but here it's Michael Pena who delivers in spades what he started in Crash. Beware this film WILL make you cry. Essential viewing tho not easy to watch. A harrowing film.

This was such an amazing film, it really re created what happened that day. The scenery is so realistic that you end up forgetting you are watching a film. The debris field of when the Twin Towers fell was spot on in the film, it was like it was filmed on the day 9/11 happened.Spot on and so emotionally charged.

it may be a cliche as some have posted here, but its a tragedy that should be remembered. the fact that so many lost their lives to terrorists and others risked theirs to save as many as possible should never be forgotten. the actors play their parts well and bring the memories and heartbreak of that day back all to well to me. hopefully it shows something of what that day was like to those who were too young and have only heard about it. heartbreaking but well done.

Heart breaking to watch; but I recommend the dvd, so we never forget the horrific events of 9/11 and as a way to remember those who lost their lives.

Dire miserable slow and forget you watching one of the worse times in modern history as plot gets lost. Don't waste your money!!!

I don't know if it's because we have become conditioned to wanting or indeed, demanding violence and shock/horror with our entertainment today but the film did not hit the right buttons for me. Yes, Nicholas Cage is always good, at least for me in whatever he does. That being said, I guess it was a difficult film to make with so many viewpoints and opinions having to be brought into play. What must have been nigh on impossible was how to communicate the feelings and emotions of such an horrific event. What did come through and that almost perfectly was the scenes where the families of Nicholas Cage and his buddy were in that place of not knowing one way or the other. The tension and anxiety was quite tangible, and if this was meant to adequately convey how thousands must have been feeling at the time, then the director certainly scored a hit.The rescue from such a horrific environment was handled well, with the marines ALMOST missing the pipe banging and shouting from beneath them..the horror of being missed also came across very well. The film would have ended up being hours long if all the issues that I wanted to see incorporated had been covered. Is that a criticism? No far from it. Would I recommend the film? Certainly, but don't pitch your expectations too high and you will be pleasantly suprised. Life from almost certain death? Yes, just a great pity more didn't make it.

World Trade Center tells the story of two Police officers who get buried in the rubble when the twin towers collapse.A well made film & worth watching at least twice, in my humble opinion.

This movie is very moving indeed, it shows the sacrifices many had to make on that awful day. To those that lost their lives may they rest in peace. May we always be grateful to those men and women who put their lives in harms way to keep us safe.

Es ist echt erschreckend wie verblödet und oberflächlich unsere Gesellschaft geworden ist. Also wenn jemand schreibt ,dass der Film am Thema vorbei spielt , dann ist der jenige offenbar zu dämlich , sich den Text auf der Rückseite der DVD durch zu lesen . Da steht nämlich ganz deutlich , dass die Geschichte aus der Sichtweise zweier Polizisten erzählt wird, die beim Versuch Menschen zu evakuieren verschüttet werden. Und wärend sie ums Überleben kämpfen, sprechen Sie sich gegenseitig Mut zu. Es geht hier nicht um die Hintergründe des Terror Anschlags. Und dieser Film ist auch keineswegs langweilig, sondern eher beklemmend. Aber natürlich nur für die Menschen, die in der Lage sind, sich in die Geschichte hinein zu fühlen. Wenn man sich den Kernschrott durchliest den die meisten hier verzapft haben, dann wird einem klar das diese Menschen ein extremes Deutungsproblem haben und 0 Empathie.

Die Handlung setzt am frühen Morgen des 11. September 2001 ein, als Polizist John McLoughlin sein Haus verlässt, um zum Dienst zu erscheinen. Kurz darauf rast ein Flugzeug in einen der Zwillingstürme des World Trade Centers. Auf der Polizeistation der Port Authority Police verfolgt man das Geschehen auf CNN. Sergeant McLoughlin, Officer Will Jimeno und ihre Kollegen eilen zu ihrem Einsatzort. Während der Fahrt im beschlagnahmten Linienbus spekuliert man über die Hintergründe: Unfall oder Anschlag? Letztere Vermutung löst Beklemmung und Schweigen aus.

Insgesamt ist der Film gut gelungen und bildet das Chaos von 9/11 gut ab. Einzig die vielen sehr langen Gespräche zwischen den beiden verschütteten Einsatzkräften hat dem Film eine Länge verliehen, die es meines Erachtens nicht gebraucht hätte - zumal diese Stellen auch so düster waren, dass sie per Beamer teilweise nur schwer zu erkennen waren.

Overall good movie based on an unforgettable event, from the standpoint of 3 NYPD families and those who were involved in rescuing them after they were caught in the rubbles trying to rescue people from the 2 towers

Habe mir den Film als Geburtstags Geschenk bestellt. Er kam auch rechtzeitig an war dann sehr glücklich als ich ihn endlich gucken konnte. Doch auf einmal bleibt der Film stehen und hängt sich auf. Die DVD ist wieder beschädigt oder hat Kratzer habe sie auf 2 verschieden Geräten angespielt trotzdem bleibt der Film stehen.

movie was great, gave us an inside look at what of so many New York fighter fighters had to deal with the morning of 911 2001 sadly including giving up their own lives in trying and wanting to save others...

Un film che ti lascia riflettere su quanto accaduto l'11 settembre visto con gli occhi di chi ha vissuto la tragedia in prima persona. Ricostruzione di quella mattina veramente ben fatta.

DVD BLUE RAY , CHE NON HA LINGUA ITALIANE NE SOTTO TITOLI .... E PER DI PIU' , NON ERA MINIMAMENTE SPECIFICATO ... PESSIMO.

Un grande film...per me che lassù ci sono stata un anno prima del disastro e so perfettamente quanto alte erano...vedere e sentire quelle creature che si sono buttate è indescrivibile....da vedere per chi là c'è stato e anche per chi non c'è stato. Una tragedia umana molto toccante...

Se la confezione è slim, bisogna indicarlo.... altrimenti uno sceglie anche di non acquistare.Sfigura nella mia raccolta e non facilmente identificabile così.

Excelente Imagen y Sonido para una Historia de Valor y profesionalidad de un puñado de Hombres de la Policía de N.Y. ... Con un Nicolás Cage excelente, bien secundado por el resto del elenco del reparto ... No trae Castellano ni Español Latino ...sólo Inglés, Alemán y creo que Francés

Difficile descrivere questo filmo, pero è davvero un omaggio al coraggio di questi uomini del fuoco che sano rischiare la loro vita, un filmo che passerà alla posterità , ... molto bello e triste..
