This is an excellent, large, sturdy ironing board. It in a nice looking piece of furniture in its own right. I do a bit of home sewing so often need to iron wee bits here and there, my ironing board is up pretty much all the time. I really love the look of this, its clean lines and solid presence. The shelf underneath is very handy for storing clothes to be ironed. The metal grill to hold the iron easily slides under the body to reduce the length as required. The board itself is very wide - too wide in fact to slide my kids polo shirts over the end, some people might find this a problem, I have had to adapt. It is easy to put up and down if required (watch the video first) and in the folded up state it stands on its end without falling over. It feels very well madeexcept....When it first arrived and was assembled I noticed that the plastic fixing for the shelf was broken on both sides. I arranged to have it sent back and a replacement sent out(this was a complex process as it was too big for the usual courier to take). The replacement, happily, was in perfect condition and I am very happy with it. I have since learned that this is a common problem and the manufacturer will send out replacements if you contact them via their website. I wish I had know this before as it would have been less hassle than sending back.I have not affixed the wheels to his one as I do not intent to wheel it around.So, despite the Hassle (broken bits and too wide for narrow t-shirts), I still love this and it still gets 5 stars and I hope it lasts a lifetime.

Wow! This is the best ironing board I have ever purchased. It is aesthetically pleasing , made of beautiful, natural material ( wood) and once one gets the hang of it, is is easy to put up and to fold and store away. ( Keep the instructions in the beginning!) It even has wheels to roll it away. It also has a good size, wide board to iron easily. I have a large steam iron and the bracket holds it easily.This is ironing at a new level- . For those who don’t like ironing at least one can iron in style. 😎

Love the adjustable height, wide board and sturdiness. However, it is a bit tricky to unfold …easier to pack away. I’m hoping I get the knack because in all other respects, this is a great buy. I’m enjoying using it; so much nicer than a metal one!

Our old plastic ironing board after nearly 7 years of use have finally broken, we were surprised that it survived so long being a plastic ironing board, one of the legs have snapped and it couldn't be repaired.So it was now the time to try and found similarly sturdy and great looking ironing board. Obviously there is always a great choice of them on amazon, but one of them has caught our eyes - italian wooden board. It is expensive but what isn't these days when it's made from real wood. Unfortunately on amazon.co.uk there weren't a lot of reviews posted so we had to resort to amazon.it - italian version of amazon, where this board have received 4.5 stars from 44 reviews, that made us think that they can't be wrong and we decided to buy it.Once we received we were delighted by its build and quality, once its folded it has 4 small wheels that you can use to roll it into another room or anywhere else in the house, we found it very useful! Even though its made from wood (apart of the actual ironing board where you iron clothes, this is made from steel mesh, wood would not handle moist and high temperatures well) its not that heavy, it will be heavier than most of ironing boards due to the fact that solid wood is heavier than plastic but its still can be lifted and carried by my wife if needed but the wheels are very helpful to move it around.The shelf underneath is perfect it helps to store those clothes without the need to interrupt ironing. The ironing board is wider than the most ironing board but that is good as it helps to keep clothes without them falling on the floor.in overall we are very pleased with this board, the company have been on the market for more than 60 years and you can tell from the build quality.

Love this ironing board. It's my third and at 55 years of age that probably isn't too bad. My first one had a tiny stand for the iron, which meant the iron periodically fell off and it probably cost me more in broken irons than I paid for it. I then bought a sturdier one, which was better and I think it will go up in the loft in case my daughter wants it for next student digs!. This one is all the bells and whistles. It has a really good iron stand. I love the fact that I can wheel it around. The shelves for completed ironed ware are fab - I have one for my stuff and 1 for my daughter's. And what is more it just fits the gap next to the fridge, although frankly it's so good looking I almost contemplated leaving it out for display.

Looks great, very sturdy, a little tricky to open at first but once you get the hang of it quite easy. Only slight downside is that it's quite heavy, but this contributes to it's sturdiness. Nice and wide, plenty of ironing surface and good solid side rack for steam generator iron.

I got this cheap ….. like new option. Would have gone for lighter soon but it was just the cherry wood colour that was on offer. Lovey ironing board …. I have a small flat. I tend to leave ironing board up . This looks like a piece of furniture in itself. Highly recommended .Ps the fittings are plastic but seem durable enough

If you leave your ironing board out, you want to have one that pleases the eye as well as being perfect size. This one does it in spades

Stirocomodo arriva in imballo originale; è un peso non indifferente, ma sopportabile, per un primo piano senza ascensore. All'apertura si è felicemente investiti da un forte odore di legno... vero! Lo stirocomodo è già assemblato, munito di poche pratiche istruzioni per il montaggio delle rotelle (fortunatamente in gomma, per chi ha parquet).Nel pacco c'è un sacchetto contenente 4 viti (da inserire negli appositi fori) + 4 rondelle + 4 ruote, con relativa chiave a croce compresa nella confezione. Ho ritenuto di dover avvitare bene fino in fondo, in modo da garantire stabilità al carrello e da evitare rischi di allentamento delle viti nel tempo: ho utilizzato dunque un avvitatore elettrico (perché l'avevo in casa, altrimenti avrei operato tranquillamente a mano).Congegno di apertura/chiusura un poco macchinoso, al primo impatto: ma molto meno di assi di altre marche! La difficoltà (superabile già alla IIa o IVa apertura/chiusura) dipende dal peso dell'asse, da tenere sollevata finché si apre il supporto con il piede: occorre imparare i movimenti e le zone su cui far leva, poi è un gioco da ragazzi/e (ci sono 2 video su Youtube: cercare "stirocomodo").L'asse da stiro, una volta aperta, è splendida, ben "piantata" a terra, solida (ho avuto l'impressione di poterci montare tranquillamente sopra!); il piano stiro è molto largo, ma la punta è perfetta per le camicie e i dettagli. Il carrello (a scomparsa) per la caldaia del ferro è altrettanto solido e spazioso. Spazioso anche il vano sottostante per il bucato - non ne avevo mai fatto uso, finora, abituato alle assi da supermarket.Lo spessore di Stirocomodo, da chiuso, non raggiunge i 10 cm (praticamente quanto lo spessore dell'asse sbilenca che ho appena gettato, con la differenza che questa andava regolarmente legata con un filo di ferro affinché non si aprisse sfasciandomi l'armadio a muro; questa, invece, è compatta e "autoreggente"!).Costa abbastanza, ma mi sembra che valga tutto quello che costa: non l'avessi comprata ieri (tempo di spedizione = 1 giorno con Prime), la comprerei subito ora.***Ovviamente mi riservo di aggiornare la recensione: in questo particolare caso mi sento abbastanza ottimista, ma registrerò qui le mie impressioni dopo qualche sessione di stiratura. Amazon perfetto come sempre
