Get this topper if you want quality visco elastic memory foam 4 lb density, and if you PREFER to sleep on a mattress that leans towards soft-medium plushness not found in most firm memory foam AND BUY IF YOU DON’T WANT YOUR MEMORY FOAM TO SMELL. SCENTLESS (NOT MASKED WITH PERFUME, NO CHARCOAL) NOTHING ADDED to make it scented because there is NOTHING TO HIDE. Sweet! I hold my breath literally and turn my nose up to memory foam. I despise the use of petroleum products in my household, especially any which may come in contact with my skin or respiratory system as would occur with sleeping on a memory foam mattress. Despite this screeching truth, I can’t sleep without a similar sensation of a cloud otherwise my very bones ache...I despise myself and admit my sins in this account in which I both smote my weak character and applaud my understanding of fact vs altruistic ideals. I wish I had the perfect mattress that felt like this foam yet was naturally derived, organic. Yet latex is too bouncy and hot for me. Instead I split the difference and combined the two. (One cancel the other out?) Despite the petroleum business, despite knowing full well I’m aiding and abetting the actual extinction of our species and life on earth as we know it in the very near-ish future....I cannot deny I like sleeping on foam that reminds me of a whipped or jellied dessert—or a scrumptious cupcake with a Swiss meringue topping! This particular foam is dense but squishy. Like sleeping on wiggly jello-mousse-like concoction.It’s what imagine Purple mattress gel inside to feel like:). I LOVE IT. The quality is excellent, I aired it for 2 days to expand(prob can skip, and allow 12 hours). Absolutely ZERO off gassing smell —unlike past termperpedic and Vivon memory foam beds. It’s softer, smells neutral, and is squishier. The best texture for the top layer of my mattress. I will by again from this seller. Also noted it was made in the USA, GREAT! and Great return policy, Great warranty. It is super pale grey color. It is soft, dense and heavenly. Shipping was so fast I was shocked! I'll start off by saying that I have a king size bed, that I'm 4'11" and 105 lbs (and 30 years old), so this review may be better suited for the smaller person, as I cannot attest to how heavier people would enjoy this topper. Also, I do not have back pain in general, it only occurs when sleeping. I have a simmons pillowtop beauty rest mattress that I bought in the summer of 2012. I first had bought a Bobs latex mattress and it was too hard for me and really hurt my back, so then I went to Sleepys. They did the whole test and said I needed a plush mattress and recommended the Simmons. Initially, I guess after the latex mattress, I thought it was more comfortable in comparison, and by then time I realized I really didn't like it, it was too late to return. I put a fiber fill topper on it and it helped for a bit, not totally comfortable but better. Recently, it had gotten to the point that I was waking up all the time to shift positions because my back hurt. It was the kind of pain, that when you breathe in your whole back aches. I took the fiber fill topper off and it was better, but not much. So, I decided it was time to get a topper. Years ago I had a memory foam topper on an old mattress and I knew it helped a lot, but my ex had ruined it by getting drunk and throwing up on it :/I did a lot of searching through amazon and other websites, and research on inches vs density, and latex vs memory foam vs gel foam and settled on this one. I also really liked the fact that it's non toxic. When I got it home, it was a little heavy for me (I'm sure it wouldn't be so to a guy), but I was able to move it around. It expanded right away and just by feeling it you can tell it's quality memory foam. I've felt the cheap stuff before and this wasn't it. It did have an odor, but it smelled almost sweet to me, and was in no way over powering. I let it sit in my spare bedroom for about 6 hours before putting it on my bed and going to sleep. I didn't notice much of an odor at all that night, maybe very faint and nothing since. I've had it for 3 nights now. I've had no back pain since I've got it and my sleep is much more solid. I feel much more well rested. It isn't too firm or too plush, like goldilocks would say, it's just right. I will say that it does make you trap heat more, because although I don't notice it while I'm sleeping, when I wake up, I can feel that I've been sweating. So, maybe lighter covers would do the trick.I so far am very happy with this topper and if for any reason that changes I will update this review.

Quality-wise this topper is nice. It's real memory foam. I had a herniated disc in my lower back this past year and my bed was absolute torture. The previous topper I had was one of those 5 zone convoluted regular foam toppers, but since the injury I felt like the princess and the pea. I could feel every little dip in the topper and it hurt worse. So I ordered a 3 inch 3lb density memory foam topper from another site and it was waaaay too soft. I just sank in and made a crater (I'm only 124lbs!!! But I'm very curvy so my weight distribute's awkwardly when I sleep.) and I'd have to lift myself out of the hole at night and go sleep in another spot which got just as bad 10 minutes after. I ended up switching beds with my roomate because I could stand hers a little better. Finally I got fed up again and ordered this thinking it would be more supportive than the previous one. I was half right.This topper has a nice feel to it, it's fairly supportive, much more so than my previous one (night and day actually) and seems to be MUCH better quality even though it's cheaper. (My previous was a serta.) I've slept better since buying it but only by a small margin. It's still too soft for me and my hips still sink too low, especially after it warms up. I have a mattress pad and a thick blanket in between me and the topper which has helped some, but not enough. I have no idea what people are complaining about with it being "too hard" because it's definitely soft. I hate firm mattresses and I need a medium firm, but this is somewhere between soft/plush and medium firm. (but more toward soft) I suppose if you're proportioned better (not bottom or top heavy, I'm sadly both.) and lay lighter than I could maybe see where that could feel more firm. All in all, it was a decent purchase,but sadly not the best fit for me.
