From acclaimed director Alan Parker comes the award-winning film that took the world by storm. Jimmy Rabbitte (Robert Arkins) knows he's the world's greatest band manager.... now he just needs a band. Auditioning everyone he can find, Jimmy gathers ten of the most talented, least experienced musicians from the rough streets of working-class Dublin with a plan to launch the greatest Irish Soul band in the world. It's a joyful mixture of great characters, super dialogue and wonderful music (The Sun), foul-mouthed, fast-talking and very funny (Time Out), with a soundtrack from soul paradise (Daily Telegraph). One of the greatest films in the last 50 years (BBC Movie Connections), Ladies and Gentlemen, please put your working class hands together for the saviours of soul.

Fantastic movie
A great music movie and a first class and thoughtful conversion from video to Blueray the soundtrack is first class and the live gigs was a breath of fresh air when you can hear the crowd behind you when listening to them play in the pubs, well done.

I like this DVD so much
I like this DVD so much, that I have now ordered the cd. Music great and dvd very funny and entertaining. Some might say that the bad language is not necessary in places, but you tend to skip over this because of the excellent music and hilarious antics of the cast. A must for any soul lover. Thank you.

As good as it was the first time round!
Andrew Strong voice is quite amazing, interesting to see some of the backing singers and how they have progressed with their lives (one in Eastenders) and LOVE Glen Hansard, and his ONCE film :)

Outstanding soul music film set in gritty Dublin
I wish it were longer. I wish the film could incorporate full performances of the music so I wouldn't be left looking for the separate soundtrack album. That would be the ideal director's cut.

Brilliant
I dont normally buy musicals but The Commitments is more than a musical, its an experience. The added features are worthy of the added cost. Marvellous stuff.
