WAY too expensive, what is going on?
Just a few months ago, the price for 6 boxes of this cereal was about $12. Now, it seems to have increased by 2.5 times, and the only change in the cereal I can see is that they've added quinoa (perhaps in an effort to add a trendy grain to the ingredients list?). This small addition is not worth the price increase in any way. I would much prefer the old cereal at the more reasonable price. I would love to order more of this, but I cannot justify it unless the price drops to around $2.50 a box. Crossing my fingers, because I miss eating it for breakfast!*NOTE: It is actually cheaper to buy 6 boxes of this cereal directly from the Hodgson Mill website- even with the expensive shipping included it's only about $23 instead of $30.

Best hot cereal ever
I've eaten hot cereal for almost every breakfast for 3 decades, and Hodgson Multi Grain is easily the best ever. Nutty and wonderfully uniquely delicious, you won't be able to live without it once you get into the habit. If you try oatmeal or similar alternatives after eating Multi for a few weeks, you'll shake your head in a "how did I ever eat this cardboard" moment. There is some inconsistency in taste from box to box, probably due to variations in the season during which the grains were grown (summer versus winter crops). The current box I'm using is super flax-y, which isn't bad, but is sort of surprising for the first few spoonfuls.Cooking is a snap. I put enough in a heavy bowl to fill it up about 1/3 way, then pour in boiling water right to the top, while stirring the whole time. I let it sit for 5+ minutes, then stir again, and let sit briefly. On goes the pure maple syrup to taste, and enjoy!

More people should discover this product
I first discovered Bulgur over forty years when eligible to get it for free from the federal commodities program. They gave it to us with virtually no instructions on how to use it, but we quickly discovered that it could be used to extend ground meat in almost any proportion including about 5% beef tallow and 95% bulgur expanded with lots of black pepper, and some tomato sauce and garlic. It can also be used as a pilaf base with whatever flavors it to your taste. Hodgson Mill's product is as good as I have found and the price, though not as good as then, is reasonable.

Healthy, hearty and tasty...and how to cook it.
This cereal really tastes good. I make it in the microwave, first heating the fresh cold water to boiling, then adding the cereal, stirring and returning it to the microwave to finish cooking. I let it boil and bubble for a bit in the microwave, which is when the cooking really occurs. I often let it sit in the microwave for a few minutes after it stops, to set up. Years ago a ham radio guy asked me (over the air!) whether I knew how to make gourmet microwave hot cereal. I said no - wondering how you could make anything gourmet, especially cooked cereal, in the microwave - but that I didn't express out loud... so he explained to me the above method, with emphasis on heating the cold water before adding the cereal. And definitely not using hot tap water, as that has the O2 chased out of it, or some such. So I guess that must be it!I used to laboriously mix various cereal grains to achieve this kind of mix, but with this product it is all done for me. It's also good with raisins added.I'm delighted that Amazon is selling some of these healthy food items that are hard to find in parts of the country. The special offers bring the price within reason.

14.30 for 6 boxes on Amazon; 3.99 a box in my local grocery store! If you eat oatmeal and have never tried still cut oats, you don't know what you're missing! I cook up a week's worth on Sunday and heat them in the micro wave, add cinnamon and fruit for a wonderful breakfast. Absolutely no compassion between steel cut and the "big round containers!" And you can't beat this price.

Best Breakfast Ever!
I had been having Hodgson Mill's oat bran (which is also a great cereal) when I noticed this also on the shelf at the grocery store. I know that flax is good for you so I thought I'd give it a try. I like it even better than the plain oat bran because of the nuttier flavor and texture. I will say that I don't fully cook it according to package directions -- 2 minutes in the microwave, let sit for a few minutes, and that is it. I add one square of dark chocolate after cooking, and let it melt. Then I stir gently and top with a bit of skim milk. Keeps me satisfied easily until lunch with no spikes or drops in energy levels. Happy to see it available on amazon.

Only for burghul/cracked wheat fans or die hard health food lovers
I absolutely love this product. It is simply wheat cracked into pieces and soy pieces. I bought it as I thought it is a nice way to add protein to cracked wheat which I am used to eating in Middle Eastern food. It is a very healthy food albeit on the dry side by itself.Rather than use it as a breakfast food, I use it as a substitute for rice in dishes or as a side for fish or meat. You can add to it butter or oil in the cooking as you might do with rice or vegetables or meat.It will take getting used to for the commoners:-) My mother and father told me I fed them feed when I convinced them to try it:-) They see they may live long if they eat it but it would be a long and boring life:-)

Good for a night time snack or a great breakfast!
It is really good with a little honey and butter. It only takes a few minutes and I can make it in the bowl I'm going to eat it out of if I make it in the microwave. Because it comes from Hodgson Mill, I know I can trust it to be fresh and healthy. They don't have long lists of ingredients that I can't pronounce and they taste good. I don't have to buy a ton of ingredients, they have them all mixed together for me and they don't cost the earth.
