Best in class
I'm a 4 handicap who plays a lot of golf. When my expensive rangefinder crapped out after a couple years, I wasn't excited about spending another $300 on a rangefinder. So, I took a flyer and bought this one. After 4 rounds, I'm extremely satisfied. It's accurate; has a very good zoom clarity; is lightweight; easy to use; and is USB rechargeable. After 4 rounds, my battery is still showing a full charge. If it is durable, this is a really good product. An easy 5 star rating.-------------------------------------------------------------Ok, I've now had this product for a few months. The rating I made it is still correct. Great rangefinder. Accurate, terrific battery life, good view magnification. Kills the rest ... And not only for the price. All my scratch golfer friends (using expensive Bushnells) agree. Can't go wrong with this thing...

A serious bargain ranger
Boblov LF600GThis is a rangefinder specifically designed for golf and useful also for hunting. It has a price in the $100+ range, though I was able to find a coupon which brought it down to $99 on Amazon. Several differing units are available on the web from this manufacturer, and the review you are reading is on the LF600G only. This unit is advertised to range up to 600+ meters which is about 656 yards. A three-second press on the “mode” button will change from yards to meters and back again. When the unit powers up will come up measuring in the last used mode. Default is yards. The advertised ability is 600 Meters. Any instrument will stumble under very bright light simply because the detector is overpowered. In fact, this unit has a much greater range if lighting conditions are right and depending upon what is measured. In optimum lighting, I can get a good reading at three times the advertised distance. Readings will not be displayed at much less than 6.6M, but you can probably estimate shorter distances. If you can’t, pull out your tape measure! If you get a bowshot at a bear at that kind of distance, you won’t be needing the ranger. There is a very clever method of ranging a flag or other vertical post. For most ranging, one has only to aim, press the “start” button and check the reading. For a post or flag you hold the unit’s vertical axis parallel to the post and short-press the measurement button. Sweep slowly back and forth past the target. The sweeps can be very narrow and the range will display when enough returns show congruity. A post within a yard of a backdrop may not give you a range different from the backdrop, but under good conditions I was able to differentiate at a couple feet. This is, of course, a geek’s comment and has nothing to do with the real world of golf or of hunting, except to note that the instrument really can pick up a narrow target and differentiate it from background surfaces. Ranging of a narrow target can be done at any angle, but remember that the laser and the detector are not in the same place. The vertical axis of the instrument must always be parallel to what is ranged so that the laser beam intersects the target at the same time as the detector is in position to receive the reflected signal.Accuracy is like range on this device. If you are steady when you make the measurement you will find that there is no problem getting repeatable readings. Again, that is an exercise in geekishness considering the practical uses of this device. This thing does speed. You can clock the neighborhood cop. Just remember that unless you are standing directly in front of or behind his car, the accuracy of your reading will be affected. I don’t recommend the area in front of any speeding vehicle! This is a great little unit. I am not inclined to purchase stuff which does not have a replaceable battery. On the other hand, the specifications say the battery will take 800 full charges if re-charged from about half full. Discharging to 1/3 capacity gives about 900-1500 cycles. Each cycle is worth 30,000 readings! I’m guessing you will be interested in their next model long before the first one dies. I was impressed with this nicely packaged laser rangefinder.

Customer service was good and product seems to be working well
Updates below...I purchased this for my father as a gift. He has used this device about 15 times and needs to charge it before each round. He may get 30 scans per round, though the product description claims 30,000 scans per charge. There is a return window of 3 months; I contacted the seller 20 days outside of this window.UPDATE: the seller sent me another unit and it seems to be holding a charge. They responded well and took care of the problem - - thank you.

Used it for one round of golf and works fine. In flag locking mode
Used it for one round of golf and works fine.In flag locking mode, the readings were quick and accurate. The limiting factor in operating the rangefinder was my hand shakiness, but this is a common issue among the different devices that don't have optical and laser stabilization. The case is nice and comes with a carabiner to attach to your bag.I personally can't find any reason to pay more than I did for a golf rangefinder. The true test will be in how long it survives.

Very easy to operate with just two buttons
I got this item for hiking. It is very light and well built. Very easy to operate with just two buttons: one button for power on and activate the measurement, and another button to select between three modes and yard/meter scales. The three modes are: Distance, Flag and Speed.Although I could not verify the distance accuracy, it is very consistent. It seems that the measuring area is very small and spot-on in the center. I tried measuring a distant building between tree branches. As long as a branch was not in the + sign, it gave the measurement of the building, the moment I put a branch on the + sign the distance changed accordingly. It also supports continues measurement which is very nice to have if you want to get a sense of the terrain. The flag mode is intended for the opposite use case, when you actually want to measure something in the front but its very slim. It works really well and sure makes it easy to catch the desired object, especially when viewing over a longer distance. The speed measuring is also nice but was a little more confusing. You have to press the power button and point at the moving target. I believe the manual could have explained a little better how to use that mode, e.g. if the device must stay stationary or if its ok to move it with the object. Also it would have been nicer if we could have mp/h as well as km/h.This device has a built-in battery which makes it very easy to charge and use. My mind is not set on whats better, built-in battery or replaceable ones, especially when you are out of the house. But after a day of use my batter still seems to be fully charged. One thing that is missing in my opinion is that the LCD display cannot be lit, so if you use it at night it is a little difficult to see the readings. A little led on the inside near the LCD could have solved that, but that is minor. If you play golf or go hiking you are probably back home by night time.I did not try any other golf rangefinder, so this review is not a comparison, but I am really impressed with it and would recommend it to others as well.

Works well for me.
I play a course that doesn't have reflectors on the pins which made me give up with my other (name-brand & more expensive) rangefinder as it just wouldn't work without reflectors. This rangefinder works very well without reflectors. In "golf mode" you press the button and then sweep the view finder back and forth across the pin. After a second it will vibrate and report the closest distance, which is the pin. Very handy as you don't need a steady hand to do that. The carrying case has a magnetic closure which is nice. Quality feels good, and again, the rechargeable aspect is excellent. I use this for all yardages, including over 300 yards so I can decide what yardage I want to lay up to. I've even checked a par 5 length for fun and it reports over 500 yards without a problem.3 MONTH UPDATE: The battery life is excellent. Playing at least 4-5 times a week, I've only had to charge the battery at most three times. That's A LOT of golf per charge, and even then I charged it when only one battery bar was used up. I picked up a cheap power bank and keep it in my golf bag for on the fly use. In "golf" mode (when you sweep it side to side across the pin) if it doesn't report a distance (for whatever reason) I change the mode to direct shot and it will get me the distance. For the price I still say this is fantastic for golf. The magnet in the case's closing flap came loose (the glue melted in the heat) and shifted position so that the flap doesn't hold shut anymore. Not a big deal but slightly annoying.YEAR+ UPDATE: Still going strong and absolutely no problems. I play 5-7 days a week now. I hardly ever have to recharge it so it's difficult to say what the battery life is like as it lasts weeks between charges. A few times over the year my friends with their expensive name brand models have asked me for yardages because theirs either couldn't read the pin or their battery was dead. They soon complain that they're going to be spending $20 some-odd dollars on a new battery .. something you don't need to worry about with this beauty.

Clearly sent a used unit, not new!! Be careful with this seller
Package arrived and looked like it had already been opened. It 100% is a used unit as the battery had been removed from the seal an installed. When I turned it on I only get 2/3 power. So for sending a used product I would give it 1 out of 5. But this could be amazon, I don’t know how it works. As for the unit, it gives the readings within 1 yard of my friends much more expensive unit so happy with it. So for the unit it is a 5*However can only go to three stars due to the unit being already used. I should complain but I don’t have the time and the unit works. Shame really.

excellent product that performs like the higher priced models
The BOBLOV laser rangefinder is a wonderful device for golf, where I have used it for several weeks. It provides distances in either yards or meters, it locks on to targets when held very steadily, is light weight and easy to use. The rechargeable battery is convenient as is the carry pouch with quick closure magnetic snap. The flagpole is sometimes difficult to lock onto, like more expensive LRFs also, when there are trees behind it but but locking onto players in front on the green holding the flagpole the distance to the pin can be obtained readily. I am planning to buy another unit as present and definitely recommend the BOBLOV laser range finder as very affordable device.

Easy to use and accurate
I had previously used a GPS unit for several years which had worked quite well but was hard to see in the sun. Looking around I came across this Boblov Unit which was a VERY good price and had good revues. I bought it at the end of last season, and used it for about 10 rounds. I am VERY pleased with it. It is accurate and the fact that I am now getting distances to the pin rather than the middle, back or front of the green, has made my iron play better. The vibration when locked onto the pin is a big plus. You can't beat this unit for quality or price.
